Foresight GC2 on ProTee Golf 2.0 with Online Play!

GC2 owners now have the option of using their GC2 launch monitor with the ProteePlay(ProteeGolf 2.0) simulation software. They will even be able to play online with Protee golf simulator owners.

Ok Update on getting things set up and working. Zmax helped get most all going but the GC2 was not sending the info to the GSX. Thought it may be the bluetooth but when I did my remote with Protee (which was great by the way and less than 15 min to respond and be on my laptop), they said the com ports needed to be less than 10 and mine was at 12 and 13. They reset them to open ports which were 1 and 2 and all worked. Did a quick test holding a ball infront of the GC2.....it worked but I missed my putt for eagle....

And 109 are the proper number of courses as I believe they removed some that were not working well as were posted on the forum.

When you get all set up, I am curious to see what kind of settings you come up with on the GSX sliders to match realistic play (especially the default rough and high rough settings).

Also, regarding the COM settings, be sure you wipe them out and re-establish a bluetooth connection each time you play. Pay close attention to what COM port it uses. I have seen it change. For me it bounces between 3 and 4.

I have an appointment set up for friday to get the router thing figured out. I will try to down load all the team speak stuff now so it's all ready.

Interesting thing about the graphics on the Protee compared to the P3pro and Foresight.

Even though they all use Redchain they are not all the same.

First P3pro looks horrible now compared to the Protee as most trees are not drawn in the distance compared to the other two and in general not near as nice on close ups or texture.
The Foresight and Protee are close but when you get up close to the trees in Foresight the leaves are not as crisp. All were set to max for the settings. I only have the one course to compare to with Foresight but even with that I am happy to say the Protee Graphics are great. This may be a reason I needed to update my graphics card for the Protee to run and the others had been running on it before. Same card just updated it.

Will do and good to know about the com ports changing. I might have to use my old clubs to get the feel of distance as my new irons have not been outdoors yet. So I have been only hitting them with the Foresight software and not sure if that will be my yardage on the real course. I would think that what I was seeing will be about right.

i have had a lot of problems with distance on the GC2. Never really got it figured out with Foresight support. I am about 30% short on everything. I had put the boost on the Foresight software to 1.1. On the GSX slider, I have made the proper adjustments.

What type of pad are you hitting off of?

I was using a fiberbuilt turf (ones that connect together in 12" squares) and had that set in my platform. If at all a little fat on the shots, they did seem to come up a lot shorter than what I would outdoors. That turf was thick and could almost play as Rough. The Rough or sand turf is way softer and the ball will sink down. Not bad to simulate sand. I also felt like I needed to swing harder to get my PW to go 120 yds like should get. Since I have made my own diviot like pad to hit off of with some basic turf scraps silliconed to some lexan and set into the platform with foam under the lexan for the give. This surface is much better to hit off of and the distance has come up to be close to normal. Also way better to putt off of. I tended to have my slider at 1.1 as well.

Also knowing that the GC2 on its own without software is calculating ball carry at Sealevel. So for me that carry is low already, however in the software this

Yes, I have been aware of the mat causing some issues with distance. That being said, I went ahead and purchased a TrueStrike Gel mat. That's what I have been playing off of.
I like the mat, but the only complaint is putting off of it. Its a platform that does not roll nice off to the impact screen. I am thinking of trying something different. Not concerned with losing distance, because I am already experiencing issues.

Keep in mind that if you were playing with the GC2 boost at 1.1, you will not get that porting over to the Protee. You will be getting the numbers right from the launch monitor. I did have to tune the GSX sliders. Do me a favor and feel out the default rough settings they have. It seems if you set them all the way to 0, they react nicely. I believe they are set at default 15 and 20 for deep rough. It's like you are hitting out of the bushes. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the normal penalty expectations out of the rough would be about 10% and 15
