Foresight should offer a trade in program for Skytraks. That would be very funny!!!

I picked up a GC2a for $3500. I think it was the last GC2a they had in stock. But you won't need the Apple version in order to play Perfect Golf.

I'd want it to take it to the range. I'll yard out my ST if I get a GC2a to help offest the costs.

I've actually really liked have a LM to take to the range and also my home course has hitting nets and it's great to hit balls with the LM feedback.

Can you do a video of your GC2 ZIP? Also did you buy HMT?

There's lots of videos out there. What specifically are you looking for?

I did not buy an HMT.

I too have also decided to go down this route, ST had me on the fence for ages, but got a good deal for a used GC2 in UK, worked out obviously around $1200 more than UK Skytrak, but Im delighted with it. Now just to see what PG comes up with before deciding between TGC and PG. Hopefully PG wont be too long now, so holding fire on TGC purchase for now. CG3D demo and the fitting app will tide me over for a little while.

luv2golf, my comment is based on an exchange I had with someone who was beta testing PG this summer. He didn't think much of it at all, and also owns TGC, so he has great perspective. My point was that it could be 3 years before PG gets it together. No one knows. Not you or me. What I do know is that TGC has been out of beta and has continued to expand for a while. It's great, and that's a fact. PG, is still in testing. That's also a fact. What's your opinion?

I agree John, free definitely makes PG a great option for those that don't have software yet!

JV17, my appologies, the way I read the post was slamming PG. I have a P.O.S. skytrak that does nothing but have a range and a WTF. I would love to get a gc2 am will work on trying to pick one up this week and hopefully be testing PG with GC2 next week.

Yes, your right PG is still in testing and probably will be for a few more months from what I can tell. Guessing PG for GC2 will be out long before skytrak.

I built a new one with I5-6500, 8GB DDR4/2666MHz, GTX970 and SSD. win10 64bit. Overkill for PG but I want to be able to run TGC as well if it comes to that.
My sceen res in the sim is 1680x1050. Manly due to aspect ratio. The available 3.7m width produces a very low picture if operated at full HD.

I'm running an i5 laptop with 8gb ram and a 635m 2gb gfx card. Can play at 1080 resolution on ultra high and get 25fps, when set to high get 45fps

Only time it dips low is when scanning slowly on the greens to pick line, this that's more to do with the grid being on though

In similar vein to TGC more trees on courses needs more power but would say it's pretty lenient on resources compared to what I've read about TGC, but then I should be as not as graphically pretty.

Would love to demo TGC to compare, but from what I've read don't think laptop would even run it,

JohnMeyer the graphics card in your Laptop will probably not be able to run TGC smoothly.
There are server gaming Laptops out there with GTX880M cards or better which are able to run the game.

Yeah, if I end up down the TGC route will have to purchase a new PC to run it, and obviously with software costs, its whats making me hold on for a while if Im honest. Dont get me wrong, Ive know ive just spend a wedge on the GC2, and guess its the way itll be that will be another wedge for TGC

Whilst I appreciate this is a Protee Owned forum in the interest of fairness and non bias the Perfect Golf Beta is now available and I would encourage people to try it. its not a stable release yet, and obviously bugs within it but its definitely worth a try, I think youll enjoy it. Graphically, based purely on videos and screen shots its not in the same camp as TGC, and yes theres only 12 courses right now, but it works, has multiplayer, tournaments, and whilst in beta is free.

Even if youve already got TGC, the more experienced GC2 users that can try to test it the better.

Under these forum guidelines Im not allowed to post links to where you can find it, but Im sure if you google hard enough you will.
