  • Protee versus E6

Since both E6 and protee can be used on GC2 I thought I would ask the question which is better: Protee or E6?
If possible, responses should be independent of prices. Which will have the best golf simulator experience.

TGC by far which is associated with Protee. E6 does not even come close

CB what do you mean by Protee? There is the Protee Play software and TGC that are associated with the Protee system. If you mean TGC then as bubs says yes I think its better than E6. Try them for yourself if you can before buying.

I have played about 10 rounds on the E6 demo and spent more than a few hours on their driving range. Their range has some nice features. TGC for me, gives a better experience. It feels more like real golf. The graphics are much better. Putting on TGC is fantastic. TGC has more courses but E6's courses are all done accurately and very well. Once purchasing TGC, I have never went back to the E6 demo or red chain. Online tournaments on TGC are fun as well.

I own and use TGC and would say I prefer the courses - the ones meant for sim use anyway. However, the practice facility in E6 is hands down better than anything that TGC offers. Only thing that E6 practice doesn't show is clubhead info whis is a definite minus. If TGC provides something similar for practice, it will be without a doubt the best sim software.

TGC for personal use, by far. There's just so many courses to choose from, online tournaments are fun, and the graphics are the best available for golf simulators.

E6 for commercial use, by far. Being able to put people on separate tee boxes if needed, having accurate course recreations, all the extra play modes, the extra putting options and the boost option are very important. In an indoor golf center people often play with their kids, parents, grandparents, etc. and they can't all play the back tees as a lot of courses are designed in TGC. The shot info window on the driving range is important to people paying to just hit on the range, too. Your average golfer in their 50's or older won't notice the graphics difference, but they sure as hell notice that TGC plays slower for them and is harder to understand. Those extra features matter a lot less when you're mostly playing by yourself on your personal sim. You can see it in the comments of the guys that have only tried it for themselves they don't even really notice the extra features E6 has. But they're very valuable when you're letting the general public use your simulators.

Swing Sense has specials on TGC + Protee Play Software and TGC+ E6. Thus I am deciding whether it is worth to buy one of these bundles versus just buying TGC.

Is there any way to test TGC and E6 before you buy it... with a gc2? From what I'm read it seems like you already need TGC in order to use the e6 demo.

I'd start at the bottom line - how much does each one cost? Almost everyone who has used both chooses TGC.
I tried to play a round on the E6 demo today and gave up after five holes since I couldn't see any clues on what was happening on the green. Went back to TGC, which is very playable. From what I've seen and heard, the premium price for E6 just isn't warranted.

The only way I know is to go somewhere where the software you want is. I went to a Forum members house to test Protee and to Trugolf to test E6 and to Foresight Canada to test the GC2. I also went to commercial sims to test other sims. I assume you have a GC2 or a demo would be silly. Why don't you ask Protee?

Yes I have a gc2. I'm using PG right now mainly because it's only $20. I'd love to test the others, but I don't really want to pay 1k just to test it.

I have Flightscope gear, and saw that TGC + E6 package as well. I can't find any information anywhere about what launch monitors TGC works with. From various posts, i can only infer it works with their own Pro Tee system, and GC2.

Anyone able to tell me definitively?

@mthunt.......ES14 or ES16? That'd be interesting if it comes out on ES14. That'd be a very cheap sim solution.
              Working...
