I am currently using my GC2 with PG beta and have no complaints with it. However, I am starting to think about what I am going to do when it is released since it appears there will be a $250/year subscription fee to use it. Like many of you, I don't like the idea of renting software, which makes TGC or Protee appealing. I also like that you can sell your license down the road, so even though you are tying up your money while you use it, the money isn't completely gone like with a subscription.
I have looked for other people selling their TGC license but only found one listing that sold in the classified section for $900 here. Maybe I am missing something, but if I can play TGC for as long as I want and then sell it for a $100 loss, why would I pay $250/year? The only thing I can think of is if you only had $250 right now to spend which would prevent you from buying TGC. I doubt this applies to most people on here who are spending thousands of dollars on simulators though. I am not trying to start a discussion about which sim software is best or the best for the money, just looking at it from a purely economic standpoint. Also planning my sales pitch to the wife on why I need to spend a decent chunk of change on simulation software
Also, I can buy TGC + Protee 2.0 for $1200. Is there any reason that I couldn't do that, sell my TGC license for $900, and then I have Protee for a net $300? I'm not sure if you can sell a used Protee license or if it is linked to the purchased TGC in the package. I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I couldn't find any previous posts with this information.
