New Owner of GC2, HMT and FSX

Hello all - new to the forum and this is my first post. Lurked for a week and culled some GREAT info from you folks (thank you) . I just left a 5k down payment for the GC2, HMT and FSX software and my hardware should be ready late next week. My plan is to have this up and running next weekend in my heated (radiant floor ) pole barn up in Michigan. I have attached a pic and will post more. In the summer, I can install anywhere in the barn (1900 usable sf and 16' ceilings) and in the winter i am going to use my pulley system to get the net up and out of the way stored on the mezzanine. I purchased a Pro golf system from "the net return" and am looking into additional options for a hitting surface.

I am sure I will have MANY questions along the way but wanted to get this post (and pics) out there for any comments, questions or pointers - all is appreciated!!

Thanks pen, I have my eye on that one - the 5x10 size...how long have you owned yours??

since may of this year. I use real tees and rotate the matt around each week. The side not being used that week just heals itself and is like brand new a few days later. I also have the 5 x 10. The only negative I can say about it is if you hit the shot fat it will go left and not very far.

No such thing as an indoor swing speed effect with those ceilings. Very cool area. If you find the perfect hitting mat, be sure to pass it along. That seems to be the elusive white whale around here. Well at least for those of us whose bodies betray us on a daily basis.

Hello again - I received my Net Return last week and set it up in the pole barn (works as advertised) - very nice product. I installed my FSX software and "free" courses to my souped up gaming laptop - that install went very smoothly!!

The GC2 & HMT hardware will be arriving Tuesday the 15th

I have attached some pics of my Michigan set-up so far!! My next project after my rig is set-up and functioning is to configure a harness so my hoist can pull & lower the net return to & from its other home in the loft - without damaging the netting or frame!

Its a fine line between what i want (fixed/permanent set-up with a nice screen and projector) vs keeping it movable!! since its my weekend place,i think this will work out fine - i may put a big screen TV on the wall behind the screen - definitely wanna get a wheeled cart for the electronics.

If i were to get a screen, would that require a floor mounted projector due to the fact that i have 16' ceilings?

I am not married and have the freedom to spend as necessary; I will see how things transpire to see where this new hobby leads me!!

You will be dropping the projector down from the ceiling........

Received my hardware today and everything works as expected - hooked everything up and ran everything thru my souped up laptop - no problems. I just hit about 70 balls with various short irons and wedges. seems true to life. will be able to give it a full test this weekend as i hit into my new return and can take full swings.

Set up my GC2 and HMT in the pole barn this past weekend.(Friday night) ....worked great initially - hit about 70 balls on the Range (FSX software) and played 2 rounds @ Conway Farms. On Saturday, i decided to move the hitting area to a different spot in the barn to make it much less labor intensive when i want to hit balls & play a round or two. Upon doing so and hitting 10-15 balls, I noticed the HMT not giving me ANY info (after being flawless on friday night)

I sent an email to my Foresight sales guy and we spoke within 30 minutes of my email - all things (other than the physical location) are identical as to when things were working. Will trouble shoot later with their tech support peeps ( my hunch is the HMT just stopped working for whatever reason). Sales guys to think its a simple fix and not the HMT itself - we shall see!!

If you dont mind me asking how much for LM and software? What software did you get and why? Can you play multiple players? What is the min distance you need for the LM? Looks great and thank you..

Ran into issues (within the 1st week of ownership) with my HMT not reading any club data. Diagnosed with Foresight and it was determined that it was not operating properly ( at all) .

I sent it in and they received it Tuesday the 29th - I was told today 15 days turn around time - very disappointed with these folks at the moment and told them so - stay tuned.

                        Grrrrrrrrr
