  • TGC/Protee - GSX Settings and Bluetooth adapter

Settings for GSX when used with TGC:

Set all carry, back spin, and side spin settings to default of zero.
Putting speed = (set to what feels right for your turf).
    Putting forgiveness set to 2.
All penalty settings must be at default of zero

    Bluetooth adapters working:
    Asus USB-BT400 Bluetooth 4.0
    4Cirago Bluetooth 4.0 BTA8000 with Extended Range(EDR)

If you're having Bluetooth connection issues, definitely try a different brand Bluetooth adapter. If you're using the metal protective cage, try connecting without the GC2 being in the cage. Also, don't just plug the adapter in the back of the computer. Use a 6-15 foot USB extension cable to attach the Bluetooth adapter. This will put it out in the open an allow for a better signal.

  • Hi, I just bought a used GC2 on ebay that was branded for Nike clubfitting. Long story short, it appears to be an old unit and I'm not convinced it is actually a GC2, although the form factor is exactly the same. When people say that they have bluetooth connectivity issues with some dongles, does the GC2 show up as an available device and just not connect/stay connected? Or does the GC2 not even show up in the list of available devices?

Mine does not show up, but I don't know if that is because the device is so old it doesn't have bluetooth, or because I don't have the right adapter.

    • As long as the GC2 is on, it should show up on the PC when searching for Bluetooth devices. It it doesn't, it either has a faulty Bluetooth or no Bluetooth.

        • Shows up where? The mistake most people make is not setting the right com in GSX. If you can't get it with the instructions, get Protee to do a remote. It'll take, only a few minutes to get running and you'll say aha.

I'm on Windows 10 and using an Insignia bluetooth adapter which reads as paired from 5 feet away from the GC2. However, I can't get GSX to read it as 'Connected' for the input but the output is always connected. I am experiencing the same thing as JV17 had above in "2": When I try to connect to the GC2, the computer produces a pass code number that it sends to the GC2 to supposedly validate. Can anyone offer some advice or guidance?

Just click ok when asked for a code.

              • I figured it out. I had to sub in a wired keyboard and a wired mouse so there was only one bluetooth device in the area. Good to go now. Thanks.

                • I just got TGC to use with my GC2. It looks really good except I have a serious problem with pitch shots. Whenever I have a shot from about 40 yards, I hit a partial lob wedge. The GC2 screen will say something like 41mph, 31* launch, 1.1 right, spin axis 16.7 left, 5900 rpm, total carry 31 yards. In the game, the shot will fly something like 150 yards. I have GSX 2.0 which doesn't seem to have any settings to change. I have protee 3.07 but I don't know what settngs to look at.

Well I shut everything down and restarted and now my pitch shots that the GC2 says would go 10 yards are only going 1 yard...

Reset Protee to default settings except changed Use The Golf Club to On and Use External data to on, now it is back to going ridiculously far.

Downgraded Protee to 3.07e (from 3.07g). It worked on a few shots but then went super far again. I'm playing Pebble Beach Golf Links (Protee). On hole 6 I am 33 yards short and left of the green in the first cut of rough. According to GC2, the shot should go 23 yards and it goes 195 yards into the ocean. The launch angle and spin show up correctly in TGC, but the ball speed which was 20 mph shows up as 196.34 kph.

                • For starters you can change that KPH to MPH. In GSX there's a settings page under protee. Make sure all sliders are set to 0. Try that.

                    • GSX should look like this. Settings are in the ProTee tab. Are you using a GC2? Is that the GSX for Skytrak? I have a GC2. I use the one attached. Maybe you downloaded the wrong one? Ive never seen that one. Is anyone else using the one he posted?

                        • Hey guys. I need some input. My GC2 used to show up right away in my Bluetooth devices. Recently though I've had to restart it a few times to get it to show up. This weekend I couldn't get it to show up at all. I tried another computer but still no luck. Does it sound like I'll need to send it in to foresight to get the bluetooth fixed? Should I ask them to do anything else while it's in the shop?

                          • It could be. Try to connect it to your phone or iPad. If it connects easily it could be the Bluetooth adapter.

The download did not come with GSX. ProTee acts like they don't know what GSX even is. What should I do?
