Well, one of the big players is jumping into the consumer market for launch monitors. According to the webpage, Full Swing is releasing the “Kit” for $4k, and the reported metrics looks to include club pash and face angle at impact. The product page is light on details, but this looks to be the kind of product that could really disrupt Foresight’s hold on the midrange market.

Thanks Hollywood for those answers. I really wonder though if the 1/2 second comment is correct, as I believe it indicates that this unit comes with onboard camera, and Machine Learning Enhanced Radar? If the statement is correct than does that mean that this new Full Swing Kit does not include Machine Learning Enhanced Radar, and is Camera-based only? I'll be seriously considering making my reservation later this week and probably do it, but still would like to see a video of the unit performing.
There is one thing I noticed on the sales page that seems a bit odd, it says, 'Set the unit down, select your club, and start swinging'. So, what I wonder is if that has to be set every time you swing - having to do that on the unit, and in software would be a real PIA, or even doing it on the unit only, as that means your walking back to the unit every time between shots to select your club - sounds a bit of a problem.Last edited by Brettster; 12-02-2020, 10:29 PM.

I'm hoping that that is just a statement to say how simple it is to operate vs actually selecting a club each time on the system before swinging.
From what I was told, the only way you wouldn't get any kind of a delay is with the infrared lightwave tech that comes in their pro models. Hoping the 1/2 second is in fact the max time and that normal times are well within that but I'm definitely excited for it to arrive. The opportunity to have a FS system for sub $20K is a dream come true for me!

The site says that it comes with the Machine Learning Enhanced Radar so I'm assuming it does. Also, Bubba22 posted an answer to his question about exactly what that term meant and they replied that they would be able to "Train the brain" for 10+ years. He also has another one earlier in this thread asking if it is radar or camera and they replied that it has both.

Does anybody know if Trackman has had some patents expire or had key employees poached by FullSwing? As time goes by, copycats always find more ways to catch up to the leader, though with the high subscription money rolling in, Trackman has certainly done a nice job staying out in front.
I put in my $100, but I’m interested to see what other options might be revealed at the (virtual) PGA show.

I wonder if by radar and camera, they just mean the camera records your swing hah. Because that camera is 7 feet behind you, wonder how that is measuring the ball but I guess it could?

I just put down my deposit. I think this partnership with TGC has some serious implications as far as affiliation with the PGA tour. Full swing is already the licensed simulator company of the PGA tour and HB studios, who as far as we still know are the licensed video game of the PGA tour. This could in the future raise the TGC franchise value tremendously.

Good point Fhacker - time will tell. I see your point, but really not sure how well that kind of ad/marketing would do. There's just not that many golfers that enjoy playing indoors... I've played in Sims all over town where I live, and went with some old golf buddies. Granted, it was an old E6 - so not that accurate, but only 1 out of 3 others had any interest in Sim Golf regularly.
I'm waiting to see how many will come out to my new sim when it's done to play even one round. I know it sounds odd, but I believe more has to be done in showing how realistic the play is, and how fun it can become with a fridge full of beer in the Sim room, rather than showing Sim golfers swinging in a sim, more has to be done with things like putting/chipping, having actual cups, cut into a raised sub-floor as I'm planning on doing too. I hope it can turn around, and that Full Swing is the company to do it, I really do... as long as they stay focused, and they can partner close enough with ProTee to offer regular updates/upgrades to software; it may happen, give it another year, and we'll see where we are this time next year!

Fhacker I agree about the marketing. Aside from a couple commercials on the golf channel for skytrak and mevo+, golf sims are way under advertised. It's odd that you don't see sponsored content in golf digest or anything. And the commercials don't even mention online tournaments or anything. All of my golfing friends and co-workers have had so many questions for me since they found out about my sim there's such a lack of knowledge among general golfers about the sim world. As someone who works in marketing, I agree 100% about the lack of marketing efforts for sim golf. Especially since we keep hearing about how golf is struggling because it's so time consuming. You would think that would be the perfect angle on which to promote your product. But it's largely silent.

Bubba22 may be a dumb question I have a SkyTrak so I don’t have this problem. But what total space would I need like how deep does my garage need to be ?? I see u said 7ft to screen an 7ft behind the golfer so what realistically is minimum depth of a garage needed for this unit ?

Hello everyone,
I just signed up as a new member after putting my deposit down for one of these Launch Monitors last week so I could follow along with updates. I was previously looking at Mevo+ and Skytrack but poor reviews for high swing speed accuracy turned me off of both options. I am hoping this will be the answer to accurate readings at high swing speeds while available at a reasonable price. If at any point it seems like high swing speed will be a concern I will probably request a refund on my deposit.

Been toying with upgrading my Skytrak for the Uneekor system (accurate club data, no delay, easier for LH/RH switching) but put down the $100 deposit for this in the hope that it will solve these Skytrak issues for $6k less and no need to mount. As long as it gives accurate ball data, club path and face to path data then it will do all I need. Hopefully they will be integrated with TGC19 so I can just switch my lifetime subscription for the $100 hardware switch fee like they do for switching from Skytrak to Uneekor.
