  • E6 Connect for Garmin R10

I noticed when I redeemed my product key for E6 that it only showed a mobile or IOS license and not the desktop for PC. I asked Tru Golf support about this and was told only the IOS license is available at this time but they are working on a PC version.

I have been unable to connect to the E6 thru my PC...I contacted E6 and no one has been able to connect so he said he would put it through to the Garmin engineering department. Said it could be 2 days or 2 weeks before they get it done. Really kinda sucks as I only have an Android phone and need the PC version to play E6. They dropped the ball here but Garmin is a good company so I am sure they will figure it out.

The Mevo+'s included version of E6 Connect is also iOS only, and has been for 18 months now, so I wouldn't expect Garmin to be any different or to make any change there.

Isn't this because the Garmin R10 approach can only connect to IOS or Android at the moment?

The only way you can connect to PC is through buying a desktop license and not with the iOS license that comes with the R10. I just ended up getting a used iPad off eBay and am content with the included 5 courses for now…

FWIW I was able to connect my new R10 to E6 desktop demo. Only hangup I had was in E6 it defaulted to use localhost rather than the IP address of the PC. Once ziz changed that it connected no issue.

Yes but you will have to buy the E6 license every year to play it on PC. The free 5 course license is only available on iOS

I purchased the PC version... since they sell it now. It won't let me activate or redeem. Needs a Product Key but the product key is already in use with IOS and my subscription I purchased for that. Anyone know how to add the R10 Product Key for the PC as well?

The R10 product key is for iOS version only. To use it on PC you'll have to get a monthly Connect subscription or buy the $2500 one-time purchase.

Yes, I think you need to unbind the iOS version... so log into your e6 account, select licenses and then unbind the iOS version. Then the PC key should work.

I had already unbound my other license hoping I could use it but the PC and IOS license are totally separate.

The E6 software had me in a loop that I couldn’t get out of. I closed E6 in task manager and tried again and it worked using my existing Garmin R10 Product key.

Right now is a great time to switch to PC if you want to save. I paid $200 and the renewal will be the same. I cancelled the $300 IOS subscription. The ipad worked great though. I just wanted to save $100/year.

Agreed, I paid $300 and logged back in an hour later and saw they had reduced it to $200... E6 support promptly reimbursed me the difference... quite happy with E6 support, Garmin support, while prompt with level 1, I am waiting patiently to hear back from level 2 (the engineers).
Please let me know if you experience the Garmin Golf App closing after 3-7 shots. It worked fine for me until the app was updated and then from that point forward it almost impossible to use

                        Hi guys.
Im writing from Denmark. My English isn’t perfect, but I hope you understand.
I am using Garmin R10 on IOS (ipad). I don’t use the Garmin Home Tee Hero much.
But I really like the 5 included courses for IOS on E6 connect.
At the moment I pay Garmin $ 10 a month for this setup.
Do you know, if I can stop paying Garmin $ 10 a month if I buy The E6 basic supscribtion for € 200 a year ???
Or do I still need the Garmin payment to make my R10 work and connect to E6 ?
I want to keep on using my iPad. It runs perfect on my iPad and never shuts down.
                        Merry Christmas from Denmark.

Lasse Hansen - the $10/month is for the use of Home Tee Hero (HTH) only. You can still use the Garmin Range and hit balls forever on your R10 connected to iOS Garmin Golf app or play on E6/Trugolf without paying anything. You do NOT need to pay the $10 to connect to and use the R10 with the free E6 courses, or any subscription with E6/Trugolf.

The only reason you would need to continue paying $10/month is to play HTH courses... I have the subscription myself - but I paid for it all at once $100 for a year, so only about $8/month. I enjoyed it enough with what I've used it for, that I thought I would want to continue to play HTH, it's such a good value to be able to play almost any course in the world that I'm interested in such as Augusta, or Whistling Straits, etc.
