  • Michigan Golfers!

Where are you located? Have you created any of your local courses? If so, post them here so we can all check them out!

About Me: Located in Millington, MI (about 10 miles east of Frankenmuth)

    Courses I've created:

Vassar (Old) - Blue Tees 6491
    Timbers - Blue Tees 6422
    Willow Springs - Blue Tees
    Beachwood - White Tees 2007

All Courses are located in Vassar, MI 48768, with the exception of Beachwood, which is in Mt Morris, MI 48458. I also have several variations of the above, white and red tees. Front 9, and Back 9 options, etc.. (All created under my playstation username DeadlyCS)

I'm in mid-michigan as well. Played Eagle Eye (Bath, MI - near East Lansing) with their TPC Sawgrass-like island green, which was was really well done compared to the real thing. Have also played Vassar IRL, so I'll have to check out your build. Thanks and looking forward to others' Michigan posts. Good idea posting this.

The Fortress is completed and published. Give it a spin and let me know what you think!

Ortonville here! Just recently started tackling my first course using the Xbox. I am trying to recreate holes 11 thru 27 at Shepard's Hollow in Clarkston, MI. I am currently through 10 holes; it is a long process!

I must just be missing the setting for green firmness? Is that set by the creator of the course, or can it be change for any course by the person playing it. FYI. I got another hole completed last night. 6 more to go

Well skytrak users can change the firmness in tgc settings supposedly, however, i dont think that it actually changes anything. Creators can change it if you choose layout from the main menu, and go down and choose greens, then move it over to find firmness and green speed. If you play some of my courses and like the firmness, its set about 1/4, that ll help you judge from there, where you want yours.Other wise most creators I dont think change that setting and its set at 1/2 now.

also, keep in mind when your playing your course while using the computer player, that AI generates more backspin than the average amateur. so my opinion is to be more generous than you think to compensate.

Located in Novi / metro detroit area here. I found a few local courses on TGC but none that were any good. Oakland Hills is a pretty good one and the U of M course as well.

Don't remember the name I found it on the HB website

Another metro Detroiter here. Don't have TGC and don't know the first thing about how to design a course. May pick up TGC some day. The graphics look awesome. FSX is ok graphics wise, but I do like the non-play modes. Would be cool to play sim golf on some of the great courses we have in MI.

Lunch at Zehnders and golf at Fortress. We did this on the way up to one of our golf trips. Great stop.

We've hit pretty much every place in Mi on trips. All the Gaylord courses, Garland, Boyne, Traverse, Shanty Creek/Hawks Eye, Lakewood Shores, Gull lake.

                    West Michigan here. I have not been on TGC yet (waiting for my launch monitor to arrive). But courses I would like to see are;

                    Arcadia Bluffs
                    Bay Harbor (links and quarry)
                    Forest Dunes
                    Harbor Shores
                    Point 'O Woods, Benton Harbor
                    Muskegon Country Club
                    Macatawa Legends
                    Wuskowhan Players Club
                    Eqypt Valley
Prob a lot more GR courses I am forgetting.

As for Michigan courses on TGC, (with the little research I have done) there have not been many I have seen.

"The Arcadia Bluffs" is a part of today's sync. Please check it out as it turned out very well. Would love to hear from those who have golfed it in real life. There are 3 versions, 2 protee versions from 6300-6700 yards, with softer greens and fairways, and easier pins. Then a 7200 yard version with firmer conditions and harder pins.

*Turn the wind on if you're looking for realism!

I hear they are planning another 18 holes set to open next year. Can't help you with the sim though as I don't have full TGC yet.
