Will TGC 2 be an update if you already bought a lifetime license for TGC? Or will I have to purchase TGC 2?

From what i was told from a realiable source, tgc2 will be a free software upgrade if you currently have tgc. Youll just download it like the tgc.3.0 version thru the Internet.

I am excited about about several features. I just hope they didn't waste a bunch of time on the Simcity aspect of "now you can buy a gold fountain"..... i get that other massive multiplayer games have their guilds and such but I would hate for them to get away from emulating real golf. I doubt tha many people buy the game to upgrade the golf carts....

i am excited to see what the designers can do in the new designer. It sound like they can import their courses and hopefully add multiple tees easily. Then we won't need 10 versions of the same course.
Tonyd9366 super stoked for the upgrade! Gotta say pro tee does seem to be consumer friendly and life time means life time!

I'm a relatively new TGC user but here's a few thoughts on what I'd like to see in an upgrade. Great execution comes from good planning. If we could measure targeted landing zone areas in the hole overview area it might help us make better club selection choices. It would be cool if we could map out a plan of attack prior to playing each course by dropping targets thru out each hole and track our stats relative to those targets for each club used. It would be even cooler if the software would auto recognize distances we preprogram for each club in our bag and auto populate targets along the ideal route. If we change the club, have it automatically move the landing zone target based on our club distance and ideal route.

mthunt, I think what he is talking about is being able to things like distance to the front and back of the green in addition to the pin. Also, if you're planning a layup in the fairway the mini-map only shows you how far your aiming point is from your current ball position. It would make much more sense if it additionally showed how far your target point is from the flag (i.e. if your layup target is 180 from where your ball currently sits it should show you that this would give you 100 yards to the pin).

jrz, you can get any yardage you want by moving your mouse pointer over the mini map. It shows distance from ball and pin at the same time.

Never mind. I thought it did. lol I just checked.

mthunt, I was meaning being able to measure width of fairway in the mini map. Distance left to the pin would also be cool like JRZ stated. My Garman G8 has that functionality when golfing IRL. I'll post a pic from Garman display. It would be wicked cool in TGC if it snapped and locked on edges of fairway, the flag and tee box and displayed widths of fairway at landing zone, distances to landing zone and remaining distance to the flag.

I would love to get multiple tee boxes and of course one player can shoot from gold and the other from white during the same round. A skins game would be cool - that would be a blast with online play...final hole now worth 500,000. As far as a fee being charged. Do we really think it is fair not to be charged if you had the TGC or over 6 or 12 months. I think 1,000 again would be unfair but a few hundred...would be OK with me. I want the software to keep getting better and better - so willing to pay. Just a thought.

mthunt, see pic. On the G8, I can move the red circle and it dynamically changes distance to landing zone and pin. It doesn't snap to fairway edges and provide width but it would be cool if it did.

June 27th is the release date for the console and PC version. Everything else would be a complete guess.

                    Butler National

From what I've read, course designer will have lots of improvements including ability to draw the outline of fairways rather than limited canvas choices. Since there will be new PC version, I could design in this if I get TGC2 for my PC. Question would be would the course be compatible with TGC 1 after published?

No info on any game modes or anything yet.. that new publisher must be keeping it under wraps or something otherwise you'd think there would be some news coming out to get us excited. I just want those damn tee boxes so I can actually play some of the better user made courses in the game.
