    First timer TGC

Hey guys. Just waiting on a screen for my build. Couldn't wait and bought TGC to use with my skytrak to hit into a sheet. Great time, putting will sure take some time. Looking forward to the tour!

I just finished the Q-School myself, and am hoping to get this week's tour rounds in! I was really surprised I broke 90 twice on Augusta. I credit it to getting a lot of gimmies from chip shots.

Welcome! I am fairly new to the forum and tour as well....and love it. I would suggest you do your research and ensure you pay attention to the steps needed to get going on the tour, particularly Q-school as well as shot recording. This can save you some time.

How does this tour thing work? I am picking up the computer tomorrow, and will hopefully be on TGC in a few days.

You don't have to do the Q-School first. You can go straight to the tour. You just wont have a handicap until after 5 rounds (start of 3rd event).

Lots of fun. Had to get a couple 9 hole rounds in yesterday. Really impressed with the Skytrak so far. I thought the delay would bother me, but its a complete non issue after playing with it. I'm sure there is a different forum for this, but how had is it to design your own course? I would love to model one after my home course for play with a few buddies and practice.

For putting, try Range 2 ProTee SFR. Just to the right of the tee, there is a green that is big and flat.

New to TGC also, didn't know there was a tour for the Golf Simulator Forum members. How do I join?

Be careful when joining the tour, as I guess there is more to it than just being in this forum and playing the events. I played Q-School and when I was finished, I noticed I did not have a handicap. Then I played the Valspar Championship rounds and STILL did not have a handicap. I checked my TGC/SkyTrak configuration file this morning, and shot recording IS set to ON.

So, I emailed ProTee Support, and this is their reply: "Handicaps are updated every Tuesday. You might have shot recording on, but nothing is recorded. You need to update your forum profile with your TGC screen name and your simulator ID."

I AM using the same handle in TGC that I use in this forum. but I guess I need to enter my simulator ID somewhere as well. Anyone know what they mean by "simulator ID"?

Well poop! OK fellow newbies, do not join the tour until you update your profile! I feel like such a dork! Oh well, at least I got 7 practice rounds in!

I have to say, ProTee Support is the best! They informed me that if I have my profile set up, Tuesday when they update the handicaps, it will automatically update my handicap for the Q-School rounds I played, as well as the Valspar Championship rounds. Sweet! On to the Arnold Palmer Invitational!

So...just looking over the Q-school results and standings....can somebody explain how a guy has a Tour Handicap of -36 (as in negative 36)?

It's automatically assigned to tour players who don't have shot recording on.
