    TGC - Live Rounds - WTH?

    So I've played many live rounds on TGC here lately (hella fun), but there are some things that'll make ya scratch your head. One common thing is a guy will make a putt and on your screen it's a miss. Or vice versa.

    So you end up asking a guy if he made/missed the putt because you're mostly unsure. That's not even that big of a deal really. However, the last few Live Rounds that I've played have an added WTH? to the experience. The putt distances are way off from one player to the next.

    A group player will hit a putt and on my screen the ball will zoom past 20 feet, then you can see the ball being picked up for gimme and you're kinda like "What's this guys gimmes set to?". 😳 BUT, in reality it was a gimme on his screen. Not an exaggeration.

    Tonight, I played about 26 holes with my buddy gene438 and it was a similar case. His putts were going longer on my screen than on his screen. Similarly my putts were going shorter on his screen than on mine. On the last hole he hit a putt and I told him what was displayed on my screen and it was a 9 foot difference. He did the same on my putt and it was a 7 foot difference in the other direction! 🤔

    ProTee United - WTH? Is this something that can be fixed?

    Check if your settings for green speed in the settings file are the same. Also check if wind is disabled on both systems.

      Really? Could this be why the match play didn't work right? Different green speeds?

        ProTee United - Do you mean "green speed" settings or "stimp" or all settings?

        Actually was pretty funny....I was playing with Gary and his putts were coming up like 10 ft short and the system was picking up the ball....I was like dang, what's Gary got his gimmies set to? 10 feet?....lol, and of course, I am sucking anyway and he is killing me....lmao...lol....then, he comes up short again on a hole and the entire time he is shouting, "slow down, slow down" and I'm like WTH and that's how we figured it out.

        I gather from Protee's comment above that each of our TGC systems receive the same swing data, but because we have set the putting settings at different levels, TGC is displaying the data based on our own unique settings......I guess that makes sense....but what to do about it. Do we sync our settings? just don't worry about it?

        I would like to see the same shots by playing buddies are seeing.....

            Hey guys, I don't think this has anything to do with green settings and in fact, I believe it is an issue with console players as well. Came across this snippet in the HB forum where they are complaining that even with TGC 2, live play is bugged with different results being displayed to live players.
            On PC, it works about how it did on tgc1 from my experience. TGC2 is also still plagued with seeing improper shot results which is beyond baffling at this point. I'm not a fan of being congratulated on a great putt only to have to tell them I missed it!

            How can this many years go by and HB still can't figure out how to show us proper shot results of our opponents while playing live? Wait, I know, it's because that don't anticipate anyone playing live while chatting and they do everything they can to discourage people from even wanting to..

            Don't get me wrong I have plenty of positive remarks to say about HB and TGC2, but on this particular topic I speak many of our truths.. Just gotta do it....
            So, I don't think it has anything to do with Sim version, looks like a core bug

              I don't think it's green settings either gene. I played with cooke23 a few nights ago and we synced our settings. No change.

                  So when I'm playing with you guys and I say "good putt." I am not being sarcastic. On my end it looked like the ball went into the hole =)

                    No problem Jtang. This is still really strange because I thought maybe it was different hardwares possibly being the issue. Up until a couple days ago, I'd only seen this issue with non Skytrak users. But, I've played with a couple of different people using a gc2 now and one guys was off and the other one was dead on. So that theory is out. Again, green settings have made no difference.

                    mthunt To answer your question above about ghost balls, I think it may be an issue there too. I've heard from a guy watching a ghost ball seeing the same things (missed putts counted as made, putt speeds off). Personally I don't pay attention to ghost balls so only going off what I've been told. Seems that it would make it hard to monitor round legitimacy though...

                      group rounds give different results when you putt and think it goes in sometimes it show that and it does not go in on the person putting, it happens more then you think.
