  • TGC - Selecting Clubs

I apologize as this is probably a newbie question but I didn't find anything right away when searching. I am looking at getting the R-Motion with TGC. Within the TGC software, do you have to select which club you are using before each swing? For example, if I am teeing off on a par 4 course, do I have to select "driver" in the software before I hit and then if the next club I am going to use is a 7 iron, do I have to select this club within the software before I hit again?

With R motion you need to select the club.

As Wbond says, you have to select the club you will hit. TGC does suggest the club you should use but the suggestions aren't always tailored to the specific golfers game.

Thanks guys. Would it be the same way with the P3ProSwing or is this just unique to the R-motion since it is a club analyzer? For those who are using the R-motion, does it bother you to have to go to the computer each time to select your club?

No bother at all for me and I also use a mic and voice software so I just say what club and it switches. I have never used a p3proswing but pretty sure you have to select club with it also.

Yes you have to select club with P3proswing. My club rack is right next to my computer so no issue for me.

I guess it is no different than going back to your bag on the cart while at the course. Jb50 What voice recognition software are you using and how did you integrate it with the TGC software?

I don't remember the exact steps I had to take but it was very easy to integrate. Just takes a little time to set up the codes for the different key presses. But again pretty easy to do. I used voice attack software which someone on this site recommended (don't remember who). It works really well and has a free lite version which was perfect for me. The only time I have some issues is when I have a fan running. It has some trouble picking up my voice so I have to get a little closer to the mic.

This is awesome, once my new gaming laptop gets here I'll definitely give this a shot

I use voiceattack as well. Choosing the right words is key. For my irons I just use the number. (seven, six, etc.) "Rewind" works better than "mulligan". and "Data" works better than "information".....you just have to play around with it until you figure it out.
