ProTee United Just curious, I'm almost 60 and don't have the yardage I once had. I always play whites. There are some beautiful courses on TGC that I love to play, but having to play them from blacks really diminishes the enjoyment for me. Wouldn't it be possible to make some of the courses "open source" (or make that an option when someone creates a course) so they could be modified? For example, if I wanted to take the existing Bandon Dunes course, which is done really well, but plays from the blacks, I could download the current course, just move the tees to the distance of the whites, and save it as "Bandon Dunes - Whites." The save could still give credit to the original creator in the meta data "based on Bandon Dunes by <insert name>." This would make it easy to expand the options for beautiful, well designed courses for different tees. Just a thought.

    Thanks!

TGC 1 doesn’t have that ability. TGC2 that will be releasing next yr would have multiple tee option. You might have to pay for the upgrade though.

I really wanted this capability but bottom line was that the course designers own their work...so the only option is to try to hunt down the person who created the course and ask if they'd mind releasing a shorter version.

Basically you have to just search for protee in the title to get some decent playable yardage. Some are still long but most come in between 6000-6500 I'd say.

You need to use the resources on courses in this forum and favorite the ones you like. There's a lot of different length courses in TGC land. There is no ability to switch tees. You need to select a different version of each course.

What also stinks is the fact that there is only one pin location possible.... 5500 sq ft green complex but you have to play the same pin placement every time.

Would be nice if there were about 5-10 possible pin locations for each hole. Then each round played one of these pin locations was randomly selected for each hole.

TGC2 has this on consoles so I would definitely expect that when that drops.

As far as tee boxes, yes it’s pretty ridiculous to be honest to have a game released for Sim purposes and not have tee options. As much effort and detail that was done to the game engine itself to have such great graphics, it’s just so bizarre to fail on something as simple as multiple tees. Nonetheless, everyone’s looking forward to TGC2

It's strange for sure but likely a result of this being a converted video game instead of a video game engine used to create a sim version. It seems like 2 will address this.

Can't wait for 2! All-in-all I'm very happy with TGC and since i purchased the lifetime sub I won't be switching anytime soon. I found a great course to play last night that come in at 6400. Too bad course lenght isn't a filter option or displayed when selecting courses. I just was thinking it would be so easy to take an existing course and make a copy of it and just move the tees for the driving impared among us LOL.

Take a look at this. It's a good resource for courses.

Here is a list of Real Course Recreations in TGC. All the names are as they appear in the game so you should be able to use this as a search guide. I tried to list

Tytow, I'm somewhat new to sim golf and overall I'm not the greatest golfer either. I have played a few rounds and she most of the courses I've browsed through are way too difficult for me. In really life I shoot mid 90s, but I'm also still trying to figure out why my distances are so short on the skytrak. I hit a drive 230 once but most end up around 210. I can't wait for tgc2 so I can move to an easier tee. Btw, I'm only 37 and not a small person either so I'm really struggling with why my shots distances are lacking. Skytrak, CC elite mat.

My bet is mat and indoor swing. Anything a touch fat and distance drops like crazy with the CCE. Not sure where you are located, but if you can still get outside, take it to a range to confirm distances. Quite simple with a laser range finder and target.
