  • Ideas for Sim golf league in the neighborhood?

Has anyone done a simulator golf league with friends who live close? Have ideas of how you put it on, track scores, etc.?

To be clear, I am not talking about online play.

If you're playing real courses you could use one of the apps like 18 birdies or something and keep score and even track your fairways hit, GIR, and putts if you wanted to.

just load the course into the app as if you're really there playing it and go from there.

Good word. Will check that out. I will check to see if it has ongoing scoring. Looking to create a fedex cup feel where there is a cumulative effect. Thanks man.

I used that app all season. Played 50+ rounds on it. It saves all your scores, stats and any type off gambling you did...

I have considered a league type format in the past, but I haven’t been able to figure out a good way to do it. I figured 4 guys, once a week would be good, but never came up with a season long format. Also, I didn’t want to do 4 guys playing 18 stroke play as I think that would drag. Either 9 holes or some sort of alternate shot format. If you find something that works as a season long format, please update this thread.

I play a weekly game with 2/3 friends, depending on who can make it. We play every Tuesday evening after our kids have gone to bed.

We've just done it the old school way, using downloaded/homemade score cards and excel to keep the tally over the year. There's usually 4 us playing a weekly game over the winter (a long time up here in Canada). It works well. It's crude and I'm sure there are fancy apps out there, but we've had no problems keeping track. Plus, using the pencil and scorecard as a little bit more legitimacy to the rounds - keeps you more honest about taking the odd mulligan here and there Frankly, the golf ends up taking a backseat to the beer and banter!

There’s a place here in queens ny
            that runs a league
the play a scramble format I think
and the guys set up to play two teams at time within a certain period of time

they have three bays so I’m sure it’s a little easier for them to sch

doesn't hurt that they are a bar too

Check out TaylorMade's 'My Round Pro' app also. Completely free and excellent.

We play nine weeks - 4 two man teams -alt shot 9 hole matches - 2 points for a hole won, 1 for a half- play nine weeks for seeding - one seed automatically in finals- 4 seed plays 3 winner plays two seed then finals. Weekly Nassau plus all the assorted junk including my favorite the forced Murphy from 30 yards in. Been a lot of fun. Home team picks course and conditions for the week.
