Today I tried to putt from just off the green. It was about a 20ft putt and I hit about like I would a 25ft putt. The putt barely made it on the green. Anyone else find putting from off the green almost impossible to judge?

Very difficult. I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Even when it says it's on the green fringe it can come up way short. And i do make sure to change it to putter as well. The only thing i haven't tried is to leave it as a chip and putt instead.

This is a major issue at Magnolia National that I noticed. There is a lot of fairway around the greens where putting would be the best approach and basically it's unusable. Any help here from ProTee United or SkyTrak_Seth would be greatly appreciated.

Next time this happens and the ball seems to stop immediately when putting from the fringe, look the after shot numbers and check the spin. Ill bet it probably says 1000 backspin. This has happen to me numerous times and Ive found that no matter if its in the putting or normal mode (whatever it automatically puts you in) doesn't matter, you are going to see 1000 backspin unless you actually hit the putter button to select the club and then putt. After doing that the backspin should read 0 as it should.
So basically make sure you see the yellow line (the one that shows the slope at different distances) after you select putter and you should be good to go. If you still see the white aiming circle, you are gonna get 1000 backspin on the putt every time.
This has worked for me consistently well. Obviously the fringe may still grab the ball some depending on how much you are putting through but usually I just add a few feet on to the putt and im good to go and it rolls out pretty cleanly.

Just a little side note. There are a number of different sim set-ups all using TGC. You can see that some of us have a little note under our screen names that show what our hardware set-up is. I think that your comments are directed to those with SkyTrak as the input device and really don't relate to those using ProTee or Foresight GC2.
BTW you can update your set-up details in your profile - look at User Settings. It helps to understand where you're coming from with respect to your experience with the sim and is useful to recognize the differences in everybody's set-up.Last edited by aja; 05-03-2016, 01:53 PM.

First off, you have to select putter. If you don't putting is impossible. I am pretty sure it's better witht new update as well. I don't have trouble putting from off the green at all. There's green settings in the update. It'll change everything. My Courses:
