  • TGC crash and No sound

The last few times ive tried to play, TGC has crashed. Im not sure if its my laptop or the program. A white screen has come up and it says GOLF.exe has stopped responding. restart program. It didn't seem to start doing this until after all the window updates. Anyone had this happen? I also wonder if anyone has had issues trying to play sound to the projector? I can hear the computer making all the sounds but when tgc starts it doesnt play through the projector. I have an optoma 1080. i have to make the settings back to laptop to get sound for TGC. All my other sounds work fine. I just wondered if there was any kind of block on TGC that doesnt allow it to broadcast. Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks,

I don't have the optoma projector but I had the same sound issue with my BenQ projector. I hade to select audio out put as the projector on the volume icon in the task bar. Hope this helps. As for crashing no idea as mine is fine on windows 10

This is interesting. I had the exact same sound issue yesterday. No crash issues but yesterday I couldnt hear John speaking or the sound of the club hitting the ball and a few other sounds. I checked settings audio to ensure commentary was still on. It was. Protee - anything change yesterday?

I think i got the crash problem taken care of. After the last windows 10 update my laptop was acting strange. I went to MSI's website and downloaded all the drivers and updates they recommend for my machine. I played 9 holes with no issues other than my skytrak disconnecting from my wifi once. My sound sounds good again, however i still can't play TGC sound through my projector. Oh well I'm going to hook up speakers anyway.

Yep... It was the update. Had same issue. Deleted the update, and shut updates off and it worked fine.

I'm not sure about the sound. I turn mine off. I find it annoying... Lol

I too can't get any sound from TGC. I can't get it through my MSI laptop with laptop speakers selected OR through my Optoma projector with projector as output... Very odd - never heard a single sound since I purchased TGC despite having all audio turned on.

When you right click the Audio icon in the Windows System Tray (bottom right), you can open the Windows Audio Mixer. You should see a The Golf Club audio slider to control the volume. Maybe its muted.

I just thought i would post an update for those following along at home.......... I contacted ProTee support the other day and they were very helpful. I sent them the log files and they deduced I had a bunch of directx problems. I uninstalled the TGC game software and redownloaded it. I updated my nvidia drivers as well. One of the downloads from TGC is a directx update. somewhere along the line it got corrupted. After I got that all done, I couldn't my projector to work. It was showing up attached to my laptop, but nothing on the screen. After about 20 minutes of messing with that I shut everything down completely. Low and behold the ole master power cycling worked. Go figure. During all the installs and deletes, I was just restarting, not actually shutting down. I learned something yesterday!!! Those guys at ProTee are great and extremely fast to respond and help!!! I played 18 holes last night with my settings all turned back up and everything running great!!!

Were you having sound issues as well? My TGC all of the sudden has no sound whatsoever. I also checked my Steam version, and that had no sound either...just out of the blue after working fine for a week....

Yeah i think my problem happened when i downloaded steam and arma or my windows update. i was having audio issues and had to redownload audio drivers then after all that i think it corrupted my directx audio. needless to say i redownloaded tgc and now its all working great.

I finished my reinstall of TGC and have no sound...did not have it either before reinstall. Everything else in system has sound...weird.

Maybe someone can chime in with any ideas... I had to reinstall TGC due to a SSD vs HD drive issue, and prior to doing so, lost all TGC sound. After reinstall, and checking all connections and that all was working, which is, I still have no sound. everything else has sound, and TGC is not muted in sound settings.

I'm also suffering the no sound issue since windows update. I'll try reinstalling TGC and report back.

OK so I didn't read the date of the last post. Apologies. Seems the issue has reared its ugly head. Anyone else suffering this issue recently?
