  • TGC 2019 Software System Requirements-Is mine up to Par?

Sorry for another quick post but I thought I would get more traction this way on a different subject-

I'm on a shoestring budget and I bought a mini CPU before checking if there were any system requirements for TGC 2019- The only issue with the one I bought seems like is it is an I3 vice an I5 or i7
It also had Windows 10 Pro pre-installed- Graphics co-processor. So I thought would handle things - but not sure-
    Here is my set up

    Product Model: U500-H

OS: Pre-installed Windows 10 (64-bit); Support Linux and Chromium OS

Processor: Intel Core i3-5005U (3M Cache, up to 2.0GHz) Processor

    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5500

    Thermal Design Power(TDP): 15W

    Capacity: RAM LPDDR3 8GB + SSD 128GB

Expand Memory: RAM up to 32GB + M.2 NGFF 2280 SSD up to 2TB + 2.5'' SATA HDD up to 2TB.

    Ethernet: 1000Mbps LAN

    WiFi: IEEE 802.11a/b/g/b, 2.4+5G

    Bluetooth: 4.2

    Antenna: Built-in antenna for WiFi

It had a ton of great reviews about its graphics, claims 8G co-processor, so I thought it would work for this application as well- It was a great bang for the buck deal - But of course it has a slower CPU.

The good news is I haven't opened the package so I can return it- Please steer me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for the help-

I think you're going to be out of luck there. How much did you pay for it and what is your budget?

$260 But I can send back- I haven't opened it.

Other than the I3 do you see any other issues?

I would say the main issue is the integrated graphics. I suppose you might (read I doubt it) be able to lower the resolution and graphics settings dramatically to get it to run, but that card is old and slow.

That intel is an integrated graphics card and I believe you really need a dedicated graphics card for TGC. With an integrated graphics card and a processor speed on the low end, I can't see TGC working too well on that.

If you're willing to go the refurbished route and can get away with just a tower and no monitor, you should be able to find what you need in the $500 ballpark (and possibly even less). There are people here with way more computer knowledge than myself who can maybe steer you in the right direction.

Thank you - That at least tells me to send this one back to Amazon unopened..I looked in the Mini-PC direction for the small storage case possibilities.

Hopeful this thread stirs up some more interests input

Just use the tgc2019 specs listed on the skytrak website and shop around. Ebay has a lot of trusted sellers of refurbished computers and there are several sites dedicated to it as well.

As others have said, that’s nowhere near enough to run TGC. Find a true gaming PC or laptop with an i5 or better cpu, and a GTX 1060 or better gpu, and you’ll be happy. New prices are around $800, open box or refurbs around $700, and used (Craigslist or Facebook) around $500-600.

Want to thank you all for the recommendations- Did a little research on youtube and got a refurbed i5 Dell Optiplex w 8G RAM w/1yr warrenty and getting a separate GPU 4G VRAM.

A lot of youtube vids on doing this for cheap - The whole set-up is very very reasonable solution on price for this use.

There is quite an after market for the Optiplex mini towers to build graphic game players- It was good timing for me- Work in progress!
