  • Ordering Custom Printed Balls to use with Uneekor

I wanted to start a topic where we could gather information regarding custom ordering golf balls with the Uneekor pattern on it. After the few tests I've seen, and the one posted here by Gene, it seems a high-end ball is going to be much better than the ones that come with the system.

I have tried a few different companies, and so far none offer the "all over" design that Uneekor uses. The best I can do is two get a double print that used the logo on the "top seam" and "bottom seam". I don't believe this would allow enough tracking points, as the dots would be separated by a seam that would have no dots.

I've sent an email to Vice Golf to see if they would print on all three of the un-used seams - see the attachment for what I sent them. They show the ability to print on the top, bottom, and left seam, which would give you an entire side of the ball with the markings on it.

Uneekor owners really do need a "high end" ball that has the correct markings as I'm sure most people who are going to spend 6k on the system usually play higher end balls, and you want to be able to play and practice with the same ball.

If anyone comes up with a way to achieve this, maybe post it here, as many companies require a MINIMUM of 12 dozen in order to even start the process of customizing a golf ball. Maybe we can all pull together to find someone willing to get us a premium ball with the correct markings.

I think someone had mentioned they had contacted titleist about making a custom prov1 and it was possible. I have contacted snell to see if they can do it as well 12 dozen will be really easy to achieve I'm sure we can order a lot more than that. If we can't find someone that can make up the custom golf balls, perhaps there is an alternative to permanent marker that won't rub off on screens.

It is possible but they will only print on two sides... I think you need at least 3 of the 6 "seams" to have dots on them to work.

Ok guys, I have a custom printer that uses the LED UV printing method who can do all 6 sides of the ball. I'm getting some from him this week to test on my Uneekor system. I will post the results.
Only downside is it's about $100/dozen. $48 is for the original cost of the ProV1 and the rest is for printing on all 6 sides - he has to print one side, then rotate it, print another side, etc... so it's time consuming. If anyone is interested (If they do indeed work) I can start taking orders @ $100/dozen here within a week or so.

I'd be curious to see how this works as well. I'm wondering how the ball logo and alignment markings are going to affect the system. I'm also hoping by the time I'm ready to upgrade Uneekor will offer a premium ball option so we don't have to pay $100 a dozen on some custom printing. I know it's been mentioned here a few times but I wonder if the Truvis balls would work.

Truvis balls do not work - Uneekor tested them and they messed with the spin calculations. (Email straight from Uneekor, I asked already. Also, the red on the truvis balls wears off.) Uneekor is supposedly offering a ball from Bridgestone, but it will be an "e" series ball - so not really "premium". The guys I found use the best printing method which doesn't wear off. On a simulator, a dozen balls should last at least a year I would think with switching them out every so often.

One slight comment is those balls won't last a year (if you play a lot). I go through a sleeve every month (about) before a ball breaks. Probably about 3 dozen a year.

I go through way more than a 12 of balls every year on the sim, wedges eat premium balls - once they get scuffed up I use them out in the backyard for chipping. I've been using the same P2P screen for the last 3-4 years

I've got 3 different pens coming from Amazon. Not sure if any will work....one is a paint pen designed to print on plastic cards and claims no smudging, waterproof, and will not rub off....I'm doubtful but they were about $10 bucks each, so I will try them and let you guys know.

I checked out the Uneekor balls yesterday, and it really looked like black nail polish.....can anyone try this? Also, I tried the Callaway soccer ball and the Uneekor camera didn't pick up the dots (pentagons) at all. Spin with wedge shot was 888 rpm vs 6000 rpm with Uneekor ball.

I haven't gotten them yet. They are printing them up this weekend. Bad news is I'm on vacation until next friday - so I won't be able to get them until then anyways...
He printed up 1 ball while I was at the place, and it looked really good!

Well guys, my experiment with permanent markers and dots from Golfdotz.com were complete failures. I tried several "permanent" markers and had no luck. I thought I had a paint pen for plastic tags that was going to work. Nice, black dots and I they past the rub test for smearing. But, after a few hits, i notice a couple of dots streaking and saw a black mark on my club. Very slight, but I'm sure after several hits it would mark the screen.

The dots would actually work. You press them on and they stick to the point I could not scratch them off. I'm sure over time they would wear off, but who cares...it would not damage the screen. The problem is price. The price worked out to be as high as getting them UV printed at the custom houses.

                        Still working on it.......
