  • [Build complete] Thanks all !

    Hello all,
After a year reading this forum, asking questions, changing my mind thousand times, I finaly build my sim ! Thanks to all this community for answers and ideas !
As I read a lot of people asking questions about tiny place (is it doable etc …), I post this in case I could help as well I have been helped.

    My requirements :
    • No noise allowed (second floor appartement in center town)
    • No holes in any walls (I am renting the place)
    My room :
    3m wide (9.8 feet)
    4,4m long (14,4 feet)
    2,70m height (8,8 feet)

    Build plan :

    My build :

A 5 iron video to get an idea of sound and bounce :

Note : I am a bad golfer, so my 5 iron should probably match to a 7 or 8i for most of you. But this should still give an idea.

    Main component and price :
    Skytrak + GIP + JNPG = 2600€
    Metal enclosure : 230€
    Black draps : 100€
Foam on right side and top : 140€
Net behind impact screen : 60€
Impact screen : 450€ (Mesh from par2pro, big thanks to Cory and par2pro team)
    Tee turf mat : 330€
    Benq 1080ST+ projector : 700€
Total price I paid (I have not listed everything here but total price is correct) : 5335€
    • I don’t count gaming computer I already had.
A lot of homemade to cut the price, far from perfect but I am really happy with it.
Few notes that can help :
    1. Due to the tiny room, I have to stop ball on 15cm. To do this I salvaged some olds sheets and hold them behind the impact screen. Between old sheets and impact screen, I ordered an impact net. With the impact screen, ball is stopped in 10cm.
    2. I changed 3 times the way I tight up sheets/net/impact screen. I finaly end with this :

From my point, compare to string/rope or bungees I tried, its far better to adjust ! Just need big enough to resist (the firsts ones broke when I used driver haha)

    Thanks again

great room. Straight shot so much better then 180 and right or left. You are correct, many great golfers on here...me not one of them. maybe next year.

          Thanks all.

The club rack is homemade. Two plank of wood with 5 cm between them and golf plastic tube for golf bags I cuted in five each. Black sheet over it. Less than 30€

It perfect for me but it could be far better with more space between each holes (space I sadly dont have in the room...).

Ykaar - looks great - good job. Could you help me out and describe the layering of the net in a little more detail? And is it all on one "single plane" frame or how did you get it all neatly attached? Pictures/video would help a lot.

I really liked the sound and quick drop of the ball - just what I'm looking for!

              This looks great!

How far away is your projector from the screen?

How deep is the metal frame which holds the black cloth and the screen?

How did you secure the screen to the bottom of the frame?(same as the rest of the screen on the frame I am guessing?)

              Thanks

              Great Job!

                I would say 1.80m

How deep is the metal frame which holds the black cloth and the screen?

Dimension of the metal frame : 2.90m wide, 1.50m deep, 2.65m tall

How did you secure the screen to the bottom of the frame?(same as the rest of the screen on the frame I am guessing?)

My screen has grommets on 4 sides. The bottom of the frame has a bottom pole, so like the others sides, screen is attached by bungees and/or zip ties. I prevent shot on bottom pole with the purple carpet you see on the photos.

                Thanks

                Great Job!

                Thanks !

This is a short throw yes ( benq 1080ST+ in europe, something like benq 2150 in USA but can be sure). The projector has no lens shift so need to be placed in the center of the room
