Protee 2.0 and Gc2 distance issues

Also if the GC2 is not sitting fairly level it can create the wrong LA with the shots and thus give carry reads that are not accurate. Also there is a calibration tool that you can download that when you run it with the GC2 sitting level will calibrate it. I think then if that is accurate it can adjust for slight changes to the unit not sitting 100% level as in out on the grass and still read ok.

I had been fighting with my unit and it sitting a bit tilted on my platform and not getting near the carry that I thought I should have been getting. Seems better now.

When I first got my unit and used the Foresight range, I thought I needed to have the boost on 2 to get the right carry. With changing hitting mats and a bit better setup, now when I had gone back to the Foresight range and set the boost at 0, I was hitting my 6 iron 190 plus yards carry and normal would be 180 as a max carry on a warm day. So that 4 or 5% boost that Z was talking about, is right.

Where did you frind the calibration software I couldn't find it? I took it outside today to verify and still registering hook shots when the ball goes straight... Maybe it has to be perfectly square to the target line?

Called foresight causer even 50 yard shots are hooking. Did calibration test and still no joy. Took it outside just to make usre I wasn't insane fades are still called draws.... Sigh...

And a big yes to having the unit set up straight to your target line. Out side is not as big of an issue as you will not putt much with it but on the sim, hitting and putting is a must to be able to line it up parallel with your hitting mat. Outside not lined up would show more missing right or left of target and not as much the added side spin. Most times outside I just looked at the carry numbers. Now I wished I recorded more of the spin numbers and wrote down the shape of the shot in real life so one could compare on the sim. A spin of 400 right or left should not have massive hook or slice but should show up.

To test for a parallel setup make some lines that run parallel to each other at the distance the GC2 sits and where you can putt from. If your putt is on the line but the unit reads to the right or left more than 1 deg, try to slightly adjust the GC2. Once set up I mark tape lines along the side of the GC2 so I can tell when it gets bumped or vibrated and has moved. Again more an issue on putts that hitting.

After seeing your last post something must be wrong. Was it a new unit or used?

brand new unit. Another thing how are you guys setting up with your unit. Mine is right side of the screen so when ball appears on simulator it's always left and so is the hole. Anyway to move that over in the software so it lines up nicer?

There's no plan for that yet but anything is possible. If you're fading it outside with no wind influence but the GC2 is hooking, then something is wrong with the unit. As SFR said, make sure you're setup parallel with the unit. Was it hooking with all clubs or maybe just clubs with white head? Super white shoes? Since it was hooking indoors too, it rules out bad range balls.

Unfortunately no you can't shift the screen like in Foresight software. When I only have righty's over, I can set mine up so that my center of the screen is where I have my putt line. So the hitting area is center on the screen. I then just tweaked the projector so that the center of the sim software is center on the screen as well. If I have lefty's over as well I need to shift the platform way left to make room for them to swing and then the image ball streak is always starting right of where the hitting area is. I will some times put a tape mark on the floor then in front of the screen where you should be aiming at so that way you don't get caught up in the image on the screen and end up aiming wrong. It would be kind of like hitting into a net and only having a monitor to look at after you hit. You just aim parallel with the GC2 and use the aim sticks to change your aim in the sim.

Post a couple sets of numbers off the GC2 and the club used, when you hit on the Protee Range and then list how far off target you were in Protee. Also what handicap are you or what do you normally hit for rounds.

Ok so I feel like an idiot but, think I have it worked out. I had the unit way over to the right side and I kept hitting towards the middle of the screen instead of the way out far right causing everything to hook or pull hook. I moved the simulator over to the middle area and no more pull hooks.... Feel like an idiot but, with my buddys foresight it always registered over to the right not the center when you hit shots. Guess this isn't something you can change and only way to do it I guess is to move the sim off the wall so you have room to swing from the middle area.

No worries cartrydge. Thanks for clearing that up for us. This proves how important parallel setup/stance is when using a simulator.

Good to hear that it is not a GC2 issue then. And with a 2 HC you will be shooting under par on the sim soon. Just takes a bit to get used to hitting indoors and reading greens. Make sure you have a way to line up putts so you know the GC2 is parallel as that is a major issue for sim putting. And if your GC2 moves you need to adjust it. Regular hits are not a big deal to be off a couple degrees but putting is.

The GC2 crowd is building fast.....
