Hi. I'm new to the forum. Have had a P3proswing for a few years and am looking to move up to something better and more realistic. Thinking of either Protee or TruGolf. Any suggestions? Do you have to input your club selection with the Protee system similar to P3proswing? My understanding is that neither system requires club taping (which is a major plus). Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Yes with Protee you do need to select the club you are hitting with. The reason behind this is for spin. Truelove you did not need to select the club but it did not measure the spin either. It calculated it based on launch angle and club swing.
Protee will get you access to TGC and 34,000 + courses.
Trugolf will only get you e6 1.6 but its expensive to add on new courses or you can pay the monthly fee but that limits you also.
My suggestion would be protee. But I encourage you to read about both on the forum and make up your own mind.GC2 Eastern Time Zone, USA

It can affect distance I believe but only bc of the ball spin calculation. It will still directly measure your club and ball speed and if u have a vcam that will measure ur launch angle. I have read u just need to be within a club or two for it not to make a difference.

Its not too bad if u follow zmax's recommendations to a T. And if u install the driver for flycapture EXACTLY as it says on protee support/zmax's post. I had to reinstall windows when the driver hung during installation (I had an extra box checked instead of just dl the driver) . Also, the cameras like an older .net framework to work (u just have to open up flycapture then it will tell u and u can search and dl it). It sounds complicated but really other than my mistake it wasnt bad at all.

What is your budget or max you want to spend on the software and hardware?
What do you have now for computer specs, hitting screen and projector? Computer alone can be big $$ in order to use TGC but it is worth it.
Do you want to be able to use left and right handed golfers at the same time?
How big of space do you have to hit in?
Can you hit real balls in your space?
The sim season is almost over (only 4 months left for us in Northern Alberta) and you may not get a pile of use in the summer so it may be worth the wait to see if by next year's sim season, that another option may be on the market.
With the support from Protee and the software option they offer I would try to stay in the area that will let you use their software. I am a happy GC2 customer running TGC.

Are you saying that TGC will be exclusive to one specific hardware product? Which?Originally posted by ProTee United View PostJust to let you know that we are no longer selling ProTee Golf / TGC as a separate product, so this might rule out some of your options.
TGC will only be available bundled with a hardware product.

What does that mean to users who bought this to work with other hardware like gc2? Will they no longer get any support?Originally posted by ProTee United View PostJust to let you know that we are no longer selling ProTee Golf / TGC as a separate product, so this might rule out some of your options.

TGC will not be exclusive to 1 product. TGC will be available with several products, but only as a bundled system. Like ProTee ships with TGC. Personal Pro ships with TGC, etc..
You will not be able to buy TGC as just a software product. Its always part of a package (hardware + software).
Existing ProTee software owners, who bought ProTee as a software product only, will still be able to use their software. They will also get updates and support. No changes here.
Nothing is changing for you and other existing software owners. New users just can not buy TGC as a software package without any hardware anymore.

That sucks for the guys that have heard how great TGC with a GC2 is and were thinking about going that route. They'll have to buy FSX now. I guess Foresight won that round. My Courses:

The more I look into ProTee the more it seems that it is geared towards a DIY person (which I am not). Seems very involved to set up cameras and get correct settings. Anyway, I am now leaning towards a SkyTrak for ball information. Any recommendations for something that can complement the SkyTrak for club info? I have no confidence in the P3Proswing. Thanks.
