  • Questions before purchasing Pro Tee system

I'm in the process of finalizing a purchase of a Pro Tee system. I'm curious regarding the importance of the second camera for accuracy of data. I've received some mixed signals from people I've talked to outside of the forum and was hoping to get some opinions from the experienced users on the forum. Also any thoughts on the necessity of the putting sensor as well (I've heard the regular sensor works pretty well)

Result sensor works good but the putting sensor is better. The second hcam will just give better horizontal azumuth measurement.

My 2 cents as a ProTee owner:

Definitely get the putting sensor, night and day improvement over just using the base sensor.

Horizontal camera also is going to improve the accuracy dramatically.

I agree with the horizontal camera...added mine and glad I did,

Before the last update, I would also have added the putting sensor...but,
I have to be honest....since the last update, the regular sensor is just fantastic.

After the update, with a couple of tweaks, my putting is dead on with the regular sensor. If I putt
10 ft on my floor, the ball goes 10 ft. (On a flat green). In fairness, I have not tried the putting sensor, but, I cannot
imagine it being any more accurate. The regular sensor picks up push or pulls as well.

I wonder if the mixed response is that the guys who got the putting sensor were doing so based on the regular sensor PRIOR to the update.

Since the update, I think the regular sensor is great.....just my 2 cents...but I love putting on the ProTee regular sensor.

Not trying to muddy the water, but a fair question to those putting off of the regular sensor is - doesn't your head create a shadow over the ball?

I have a putting sensor, but today, put the ball on the "base" sensor just to see what it would be like. In my putting stance my head is directly over the ball and thus the ball and base sensor are in shadow. Since the sensor works by utilizing the light from the halogen lamp that is placed directly above the base sensor, I don't think that anyone could use just the base sensor for putting - especially if their putting stance causes a shadow over the base sensor.

What update are you talking about? ProTee update? TGC? FWIW, The regular sensor works fine for me but as aja says, if your shadow is over it, it wont work. Mine is fine, my brother's is not. Frustrates the heck out of him and he has to change his stance.

Fair question aja...No, there is never a shadow when I putt.....you can see a video of my last round and I guess maybe it is how I stand but has never been an issue for me...but should be a question Sam3 should consider. Here is a link showing my putting. https://youtu.be/IwTAPMrUJpk

That was my worry with the base sensor. I guess I'll try it out and go with the putting sensor if it's not reading properly on the base sensor.
