Loving my New Sim Room

One tip for future builders, I decided to run a touch screen simultaneously so I didn't have to go back to the PC constantly to change clubs, alignment, etc. Its awesome and really speeds up game play. If you're on the fence about putting in a Sim, bite the bullet and do it! I live in Upstate NY and I've played more golf in the past 2 months than I did all summer!

This website was and continues to be an awesome source of info. First picture is obviously the blank canvas and then a few of the finished product. Cheers everyone!

Did you dig out your basement? If so, how much did that cost?

No, we put an addition on our house last year and when they dug the basement under the addition, I had them dig a section of the new part down to 10ft with the intention of building this out someday. So the back of my sim room is the same height as the rest of the house (8ft) and there is a 2 foot step down to the Sim hitting area.

It was a couple thousand $$ extra in labor and additional concrete, etc. to dig out the extra 2 feet for that section. I'm not a contractor but I'd imagine to do it on an existing basement would be a lot more (and alot more mess!).

Not the OP -- but we are about to get our basement done and explored digging out the flooring as an option. I was looking at having a section of the floor roughly 13 feet x 8 feet dug out by 18 inches. This was going to cost in the neighborhood of $15k. Instead, we are actually going up into the floor joists. We have 14 inch I-Beams as floor joists in the ceiling -- we are going to run some LVL beams and then replace the 14 inch I-Beams with 4 inch LVL beams in a large part of the room to open up the ceiling -- buys me 10 inches. It is about half the cost or ~$8k -- part of that cost for us is rerouting some HVAC ducts.

Will post pictures once we actually start construction of how it evolves...quite excited. Will take me from an 8' 10'' ceiling in the unfinished basement to 9' 8''.

Nice room!! I know this projector is native 16:10 (1900x1200). Does this projector do 16x9 (1920x1080) and 4:3 (1600x1200)?
