I'm building a golf sim with a projector, hitting screen, gaming PC, etc. There is a way to control your PC using your phone which would eliminate the need for a PC monitor, keyboard, and mouse. The idea being that your phone would control your PC, and you can navigate around on your PC using the projector image mirroring the PC screen. Has anyone gone this route and have feedback to share?

There are some programs that link your phone to your computer to "remote mouse" control your desktop. I've used it in the past... Its a bit glitchy.

What's the thinking in not having a monitor? Cost or space?
I have a touchscreen monitor. Wouldn't have it any other way. Haven't used a mouse for the sim for as long as I've had the touchscreen.

I dont have a separate monitor either. Just a bluetooth keyboard that has a built in mouse pad. My PC is hidden in an electronics closet. Clean look. But, i dont really play golf games like TGC...i really focus on the sky trak range for practice and testing of equipment. I am a club junkie.
