  • Hello from the Netherlands , my simroom is finally up and running:-)

    Hello everyone,

I've been on the forum for some time, getting lots of info for my sim room build .
now it's time to formely introduce myself to everyone.
I'm from the Netherlands and been golfing irl for 2 years .
The main reason for a sim room was the time it took to get to the DR was to long.

In total the build took 6 months from scratch to a my first golf shot .
I Let build a new barn( dimensions 8mtr x3,80mtr) , the sim room itself is 6x 3,8mtr and 3 mtr high,
the rest of the space is for garden stuff
all other work I did myself (wiring , subfloor , screen construction)

still got some work to do, (like to ceiling protection net), and will surely have a lot of questions for guys over here about tuning the system.

    My sim setup :
Protee with TGC and the H and V cam.
    PC: CPU-i5 GPU-gtx1070
Projector : Benq 1080ST ( took a risk , got it for 100 euro, bought a new lamp and it works)
screen : got it from ebay (i think something like supertex)
floor is made of 6mm rubber compound used in fitness floors.
The side curtains are the same they use in theaters and are very heavy.
my screen set up took some time to get the bounce ok but ended up with
6cm of memory foam from some matrasses I picked up for free.
moving blankets ( the heaviest I could find) then the net then blankets again and finally the screen.
in total it is about 20cm from the back wall and never hit the back wall sofar.

also have a music recording corner, a dartboard build in it.

here are some pictures of the room so far, will post some more
Hope to get some practice time , since i'm a 26 Handicap player and hit pretty short, so will have a hard time on the tour.

Let me know what you think

          Thanks guys,

I played one round waste management open, this morning and scored 100 , I still need some rounds to set tour HC.
but +29 is close to my real playing HC .

Online play looks like great fun , but i think maybe the time zone difference will make it hard to set up.
But will join the tour for sure, love playing the courses and watching how pro's do it later in the week.

first the body needs to relax for a few days , it is in pain from all the golf on the simulator .
it is very addictive and accurate , my shot are as bad as in real life.

Play Q school to get your handicap faster. Also, you will want to read up on the setup for the tour and the tour rules. In online play you will find most of the answers you will need.

Welcome to TGC and the tour. You can check out the tour website by clicking on tournaments near the top. You will need to register properly to take advantage of everything.

You are right..... this is addicting.

BTW.... very nice room. You might want to add some padded ceiling panels..... I made mine out of 7/16 osb with 10lb carpet underlay glued to them and then wrapped them in heavy black fabric. Works and looks good.
