Thanks bud. The Skytrak is the first piece of the puzzle! Going to use it in garden/at the range for now before the next investment (probably a decent Pc to run TGC software). It’s definitely required with the weather here at the moment!

You going to build yours in garage or in a room in the house?

It might end up in the garage, but if all works out i might have the best ever simulator. the people who built the house also built a separate little stand alone building that is too big to be a shed and too small to be a coach house. I think they used it as a guestroom or studio office. Anyway, it's beautifully finished, 11'W x 9' H x 13'6" long... plus a mall washroom & closet at the back. these dimensions aren't exactly ideal for a sim room, but i believe they will work. I have to try! It would be so awesome to have my private retreat outside the main house!!!

I figure if it ends up feeling too cramped, I won't lose much $$, I'll just lose build time& effort as I redo everything in the garage.

I bought a used gaming PC to be a dedicated sim pc... got a great deal from a graphic designer who was upgrading from a not-so-old system... it has 32gig ram & a GTX 980 ti graphics card (approx equal to the newer GTX 1070). Should be plenty of oompf for either TGC or JNPG... I'm still on the fence which to get...

          Hi,

In Musselburgh and starting the build soon. Still deciding on products and suppliers. Had a temp install with the Skytrak and WGT.
Let me know if you have any ideas and I shall do the same.

          Good luck!

MrDo666 I'm across the pond... Vancouver... Got the Queen on my money, though! What stuff have you purchased so far? I've got all the main items, I think... just missing all the assembly bits etc. Just moved in to the new house this week. As soon as things are in order, the sim build begins!!

gnomike your priorities are mixed up. :-) Build the sim and then get things in order.

That honey do list is a ball and chain anyway.

So far I have the SkyTrak Mike,

just need a log log cabin or something similar to put it in now! That will realistically take 3 months, then I get to do the ‘fun’ part
and actually get on with the sim.
earmarked metal tubing and joints and a hitting mat, in sure about where and what type of screen to get, choices are limited in the UK.
the vision is all there, just need the planning permission and building to commence.

MrDo666 Have you started buying components yet? Today I bought all my angle iron and all the little stuff like bungees/screws/anchors etc etc... I wanted to get started tonight, but the little ones (and I include wifey in that) were out of hand lol... maybe tomorrow... *sigh*

Thanks brother! Very serious about golf, although "discovered" it later in life than most. Spent most of life thinking it was the dumbest game on the planet, then got bitten by the bug hard at 40yo lol. Just turned 50 and my treat to myself is the sim room (with semi wife consent/tolerance haha)

Have you got your build up on here dg_1983?

i am peiving together a few this when they become available in sales etc. I have time on my side due to the building itself needing to be built.

have some components but still needing quite a lot.

if I can help with where I have sourced components or vice versa then that would be great!

                    good luck
