I'm going to answer my own question in case someone else had the same....about the Vistrak B

3 camera ball and club tracking using the VisTrak high speed camera with video swing playback.

with measured ball spin using IR flash technology. 6,895
If I'm reading this correctly this would essentially be an overhead unit that would measure almost everything. It's getting close to the price of the Uneekor, but I think the club data will likely be more accurate. The only feature I would want, and I understand it is coming, is the ability to add DTL and FO cameras for swing analysis.

The way i read this is that you would still need some type of side mounted unit somewhere, meaning one of those three cameras would be on the side. But it's too difficult to understand the website, and i could be totally wrong.

I believe this setup has the eagle mounted on ceiling and vcamb unit on floor... see my previous post.

Also beta cost is currently at 2800, the higher price you mentioned for this I believe is for the cx stereo version.

There is a CX surround unit with spin in the works. That will house 2 high speed spin camera with flash plus a Vistrak camera. That is the system for 6k. This system is not in production yet and has not been tested. The high speed spin cameras have been used with GSA's previous Ball spin cameras.

What have you ordered. I ordered VisTrak Eagle with light. Will use video with my flightscope and put in launch angle manually. Then compare with Flightscope. I will be waiting to see when Martin comes out with a ceiling mounted add on for spin and vertical launch. Prefer not to have anything on the floor.

So if you have no lighting currently, then you need to buy the one with the spotlight correct. Asking about the ceiling mounted option.

It will work better and be cooler with the LED spotlight.

Will a LED shop light work? Does the eagle model include carry and total yards now?

Download a app for your phone called light meter. The more light the better. I am running about 5500-6000 lx for brightness. The system needs to see the difference between the mat and the club. Vistrak shows carry and total yards....yes.

Keither5150, I'm a long time PX5 owner and I've been quite happy with its performance the past 7+ years I've owned it. You've helped my thru some PX5 issues I've had in the past so I'm hoping you can help me again. I and am considering an upgrade to take advantage of the new VisTrak camera systems that GSA is offering. I'd like to take advantage of the beta pricing but I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer before I decide.

          1. I am primarily interested in getting accurate ball spin data added to my setup. With that in mind, if I were to get an LX system, can I use the LX for launch angle, ball spin, and ball speed and still used my overhead Hcam to measure directional information and for putting? I would just disable Vcam and my floor sensor, and use the disabled floor sensor as a hitting mat and use a combination LX and Hcam in my setup. Will that work with a single computer?

          2. How bright does the 60 spot light make the hitting area on a standard ceiling mounted Vistrak setup? I have an overhead halogen light now on my PX5 and that is plenty bright to look at when hitting a ball. From the sounds of Martin's GSA Tech Page posts, a much brigher light was needed for an overhead Vistrak camera to work. While it may be great for the camera, looking at that many lumens every time I hit a ball worries me. Just how bright does a Vistrak spotlight make the hitting area and the ball from a users perspective?

          3. In your opinion, what are there any advantages of a Vistrak floor mounted system over an LX. The LX is a much nicer package in my opinion.

            1. I am thinking the same thing. I like the images of the floor mount better. You don't get the same type of video at impact but spin and LA can be detected easily. The Hcam should work with the Vistrak just like the Vcam. I will be testing this soon.
            2. Buy the spot light. If you are thinking about halogen..... you will be very warm. I had over 200 watts of 9 degree bulbs pointing at the mat. It got a little warm.
            3. You mean advantages of LX over Eagle? I like the LX as it is a cheaper way to get spin. For existing GSA users..... that is the way I would go. You can use the LX to trigger your other cameras as well. The overhead will have better club data. I will be testing a overhead eagle along with the LX as soon as I get my second camera. Eagle/ LX is the best combo. But nobody has tested if one computer can do it. I just built a new computer for the occasion.

You are missing my point on question #2. What I want to know is if the LED spotlight on the floor and the illuminated ball is too bright to look at in a darkened room. If the LED is so many times brighter than my existing single bulb halogen, which illuminates the hitting area nicely in a dark room, it just seems like I might need to wear sun glasses or something because the LED light could be blindingly bright. True or not true? I realize that when playing outdoors the sun is many times brighter than any LED spot light, but so are the surroundings. In a dark room a bright light can sometimes be overpowering.

And a fourth question. If you can measure accurate spin data on the ball, which presumably any of the floor mounted VisTrak's can do (plus the other data provided for ball speed and direction provided by other cameras of course) is club path information really all that important? As far as I know, other than filling in a chart on a screen, it doesn't really affect the result in the game software. Is that true, or am I missing something? While I wouldn't mind knowing and seeing my club path it seems more useful as a nicety or a teaching tool than anything, assuming the goal (for me at least) is to have accurate simulator play.

4th question.... you are right. If you have accurate spin, club data is more of an FYI. For us GSA guys who have had club data for so long...… we know what our path and face is doing when we slice or hook. And after a lot of practice, we can shape our shots. For players who have never had accurate club data, this is an important teaching tool. For you and I ….. if we had to give up one or the other..... we would rather keep accurate spin. Especially around the green. When spin is measured on GSA, club data will just be an FYI. Good to know, but you are right....club data won't make a system that measures spin more accurate.

I received my LX yesterday. I hooked it up but had to take my camera off the ceiling. Cameras are on order. So I moved my current camera into the LX and changed the lens. The LX has some pretty sweet images. I hit a few balls and then swapped the lenses again to go back on the ceiling. Once I get another camera I will test them together. I am thinking that I like the LX better. It is also can be 2 or 3 feet away from the ball.

I just built a new computer for testing two vistraks on the same computer. My upgrade cost me about $1000 cnd. Motherboard, CPU, Ram, Hard drive. I went with AMD Ryzen 3600, 32 GB ram running at 3200MHz/ PCI express M.2 hard drive with read/write at over 3300 MB/s TGC loads super quick. I don't really see an improvement anywhere else. The single camera Vistrak seems to run the same. We are waiting for the cameras to come in..... I will test as soon as I get it.

stevnkrn The black carpet has 1 halogen at 60 watts. The hitting mat has one halogen plus the spotlight. Since my spot is only 8 feet from the ground it needs a little help to illuminate the complete hitting area. The LED is brighter than the halogens. You won't need sunglasses although a golf hat might be an idea. I have always worn a golf hat because of the overhead lighting.

I see there is now a LX high resolution for launch angle and spin. How far away can you put it and do you think Martin will come out with a ceiling one.
sorta was interested in the other VcamB can’t see it on the web with price.

The VcamB has the same cameras and flashes as the LX high resolution. Both of these units will do spin but they are not Vistrak cameras, so no shot video. The LX high res needs to be pretty close... about 20-28 inches. The Vcam B has a zoom lens so it can be 6-9 feet away. The Vcam B will not give AOA. LX High res is $1699. Vistrak with Vcam B is priced at $2799 for Beta units. The after Beta pricing will be $3489
                    Working...
