  • Dad working from home, day 2 with opti

After getting sick recently from staying up too late in bed reading this forum and watching YT videos, I finally decided to impulse-buy the Optishot2 because I believe when there's a will there's a way. SkyTrak was not in the cards due to budget, and Optishot was enticing because I could swing without a ball if all else failed.

Wife approved of the purchase with the caveat "it's fine as long as I don't see it." In other words, I couldn't create a dedicated space for it.
So this is what I got, in our family room with minimal setup required.

This is day 2 with the optishot and I've been toying around with different standing options and orientations in the room.
The plush kids mat I'm standing on, I laugh now, because I had given my wife a lot of guff for the purchase after my daughter was born. I'm getting my money's worth now!

I look forward to tinkering and enhancing the setup further, mostly with the potential of hanging an impact screen of some sort over the drapes. But right now the setup takes me like 2 mins just to plug in the optishot and projector and close the drapes, it's nice! The high convenience factor will allow me to get a lot of use out of it.

Obligatory thank you to this forum for the inspiration and help.

Please turn your man card in by the end of the day. You stand up to that wife and say "Listen here, I will be in the garage. Ok Honey?" :-)

That’s me every night, but it’s more of I will be in the garage if anyone cares.

My mancard expired in 2010. My wife is a way better person than me and deserves to not have a golf practice facility for a living room. I can play golf year round here in the SF Bay Area, the downside is we spent $2 million on a 3 bedroom / 2.5 bath, no basement, no spare room.

I took a lesson today and it is awesome I can work on the new grip and move basically whenever I want, at least during normal business hours.
