Sorry about the language. It's pretty brutal out here. First 9: +8

Im using a ping g10 also, I havent recalibrated any of my clubs, I painted the sole of the club white. I get the occasional hook but its not often enough to make me be bothered to recalibrate - sounds like thats a real ballache.Originally posted by Buckeye View PostI picked up some black gorilla tape and a roll of white vinyl electrical tape - it seems to have helped but I am still unable to calibrate with out the error.
Something is not right though because if I open the club face to say 45 degree and swing the swing result is 12 degree open. If I shut the club face down 45 degrees and intentionally try to snap hook the ball it flies dead straight. If I swing with a square club face I get between 5-7 degree open, which causes maybe a 30 - 40 yard slice when in the real world I am more of a 10-20 yard fade. So it is getting better, but not there yet.
I have retaped 3 times now, and am going to try again in a little while. Taking a mental break due to the frustration for now but I hope to get the kinks worked out early after noon and play round 4 for fun.
When you calibrated did you do it on the range or on a course? If I understood their facebook response to my post, they said they were aware of a problem on the range and recommended "practicing" on the course. So I may go try that and see if I still get the calibration error. Also did you use only one layer of black tape on the bottom of your club or multiple layers, the error says something about trying to make the bottom of your club as flat as possible. I have a Ping G10 driver that is not really an odd shape and IS relatively flat on the bottom, but I was considering putting on 2 or 3 layers of the black tape to try to flatten

Going live in 5 minutes. I'm quite hungover from yesterday's football festivities. Likely to get ugly. Haha. I see some 4-putts in my future with these fast greens. Good luck to everyone.

On 16 I had a putt for an eagle from the frindge. Made an 11. 9 putts. Beware of pin placemant in my group. It is JUST IMPOSSIBLE. 6 putted 17... 3 or more putted 12 times. It's like putting on a wooden floor. I have no idea how John managed to play sub par... Well played John.... Well played.Last edited by MatalaWedge; 12-07-2014, 08:27 PM.

I saw the 6 putt on 17 missed the 9 putt! Crazy golf.

You just painted it white? Did you do the same thing with your woods? I have g5 woods, but I believe the g10's are identical.Originally posted by MrHogan View PostIm using a ping g10 also, I havent recalibrated any of my clubs, I painted the sole of the club white. I actually considered painting the sole black, but talked myself out of it. Risk v Reward and all. If it works though I will do it.
I "deleted" the calibration and the taping seems to help a great deal, but my irons are screwy now. I also offset my driver .25 and that seemed to straighten it out.

Agreed. Had a birdie putt on a Par 3 and made an 8. I may be alone in this, but I don't mind putting my name on it. I make a motion we don't play Fast greens in the future. Haha. At least on severely undulated greens. It's just torturous.Originally posted by Aurincoynen View PostOn 16 I had a putt for an eagle from the frindge. Made an 11. 9 putts. Hats off to you John. You'll be hard pressed to find a more impressive round than that one you played. Congrats!

I missed all of my 8+ footers. Also missed alot of 3 and 4 footers... I can't begin to comprehend the practise that has to go into the mastering of those fast greens. Basically its +1putt per hole. And with a hard pin placement it's just a lottery. Eventually a putt will go in but having to try 8 times from inside 10 feet is a bit much for me. Takes the fun and to some extent the skill also out of the equation...

Thanks guys still at family party, after playing 3 practice holes I was terrified. I told myself after that just leave it by the hole. I tryed to lag everything par was good in my mind. Futunately my approach shots where on. Except holes Igot slaughtered on. I knew I was furtunate with that score and Corey had his work cut out for him. Just Brutal.
Thanks Everyone John.
Ill be back home in about 4 hours.
