So last night i played a practise round after the update. Not sure if everybody got an update or I'm just late doing it. But during the practise round I noticed 30 yards short on my drives and 1 to 2 irons short on my irons. So after the round and went to the driving range and hit a few balls to see if the distance was the same and it was. So when I went to calibrate clubs I noticed the check mark on the foam ball. Once I changed it to the real ball all the distances were back to normal. Anybody else have this issue should check that out.

I also tried streaming from twitch and the audio was horrendous. It was screeching and could hear my shots and the crowd cheering on my computer then 10 seconds later on twitch. So I just turned the volume down until I can figure out the problem.

          Yes Good Catch Jason,

You need to switch to Real Balls after update both on the driving Range and Game Play. If your hitting a Real Ball..

hey... do you use almost golf balls or real balls... do you input real or foam on the opti... my shots are ridiculously too long with "real ball" and almost golf balls.. My view is that almost golf balls should definitely use "foam ball".

I use the almost golf balls and set it for foam. The difference is negligible when hitting either foam or almost golf balls with that setting.

Yep. But having it on real I hit it onto the roof of the house at the end of the d-range... LOL. Guess willy and vince use the real thing then?

Kinda assumed that everyone was on the almost ball. I could hit a real ball in to my net but don't have the balls (phun intended) to do so.

I use Almost golf balls and set it to foam. Sorry for the confusion, was just thanking Willy for the heads up to those using real.

For me, the almost balls on foam setting is pretty accurate as far as distance goes.

I wonder how much that affects me using no ball. I did not even notice, but my last round and practice rounds were set to foam instead of no ball. Wonder if that is why I saw a noticeable swing speed decrease. Swinging out of my shoes I could only get driver to 90 mph where I've been clocked in the 110 mph range. I wrote it off to being tired from playing so much the last week or so, but I'm not so sure anymore.

i hit it 30-40 yd longer with real ball instead of foam when using almost ball... just tested it. it's ridiculous. it sure as h&%l makes a difference.

                            That's definitely why.

The Optishot has a sensor row AFTER impact, or in front of the ball.

That's why it matters what setting you have it on: No Ball, Foam or Real. Because the swing speed and therefore ball speed is an interpolation of the time it takes for your club to reach the sensor in front of the tee vs behind it.

So say you have no ball, but you pick real ball. The algorithms in the software are expecting there to be quite a slow down of your club between the two sensors caused by you hitting the real golf ball. So when you don't actually hit a real ball, the club reaches the sensor in front of the tee sooner than it should have, leading to a much higher calculated swing speed at "impact".

This can then explain all situations of mis-calculated swing speed based on an incorrect ball type setting.

                            Just FYI.

Yes, but following your logic, if I have no ball and the game is set to foam ball, my swing speed should have been faster but I had a noticeably slower swing speed, never going over 90 mph the entire round when I should be in the 105-110 range.
