We try to play 6800-7000 yards.

Actually I think most amateur golfers play from tees that are to far back. Ego and all. I'd guess if you asked a starter at nicer courses they will tell you they wish players moved up in tees.

I really don't care where the starter suggest I should play, I know for the players I play with and the Tournaments I've played in are right around 6300.. Yards..

We play from the longer tee boxes because of the Rediculous Drives....

          Ok.

I was simply suggesting you ask someone who has seen more amateur golfers play than you and I combined.

You stated you think most players play from forward tees. I disagree. I think most players think they hit the ball further than they do and play better than they do and play from tees they shouldn't because of their ego.

If you don't want to verify my theory by talking to a starter you don't have to. There are tons of articles wrote on the subject. Hell the PGA has started a huge "Tee is Forward" campaign to get amateurs to move up a set or two of tees.

Regardless I don't see how this is relevant to us. If we reduce driving distance and then move up to the women's tee's that defeats the purpose.

No I didn't say that, I said it would move us up to forward Middle tees depending on distance..

I don't understand the point you are trying to make John.

The point some of us are trying to make is currently we are simply over powering the courses. The suggestion was to reducing driving distances some how and bring them more in line with reality.

The course distances we have been using has not even been brought up except once by a member advocating we use back tees. No one other than yourself has mentioned moving to forward tees and I'm not sure why that is even a consideration.

Here is the reality, if we all put our drivers hitting to what we really hit, we would not be playing any Tee position longer than 6500 yards

Right because I am sure that par 4 greens will be unreachable with only 270-300 yard drives instead of 300-350 yard drives.

I really don't understand what the big deal with at least attempting to get the program more in line with reality is. I would be very surprised if anyone on this forum playing this simulator is playing on courses on a regular basis between 6,000 and 6,400 yards.

Some Players I understand have a long drive and they would need to use lower irons for Approaches or maybe wedges depending on hole, but for the Average Golfer in our league 6300-6500 is a challenging total distance..

And Again if The Driver was set to what we actually Hit on the Course... not some inflated Distance

                          Buckeye,

I am with you on this, but it is the way we go about it... I want every player to hit what they hit in real life... We need to be careful in the way we do this, that's all...

Speaking of irons, is it currently ok to go over 100% with them? I was under the impression right now all clubs were capped at 100% and the only adjustments that could be made were down to meet real world results.

Maybe I interpreted the rule wrong. Either way 100% seems pretty accurate for my irons.

Wow. Been out of pocket for New Years and not sure I'll be able to catch up with all the posts in this thread. What did we decide, are we dialing down the drivers? If so, I like it. My swings speeds, personally, are pretty close with my driver. The distance however is not. So I would be reducing my distances in the form of the distance setting not the swing speed. So are we all just gonna go to the range and adjust our distances down until we get our real life results?

Buckeye the Guideline says you can adjust your Irons to real life up and or down...
