I'm all for leveling the playing field so we can get some more realistic results. What's the point of playing competitively if one guy plays honest while the other guy hits 400yrd wedges. No point in playing or even having a league.

I was thinking today that adding an amateur style of league for higher handicap players would be something cool to have in the future. Might not be as worth while now but if we start getting a lot of people joining, it'd be a good way to separate the pack and keep people involved.

Actually, I believe D3DGear will also work on XP. However, it will cost. There is a 30 day trial. I played around with it when I had my old computer. I liked it a lot, but didn't want to pay for it when there were other free optons.

Hopefully it will work Ian. I have both OBS and XSplit and it seems XSplit is a little more resource intensive than XSplit.

I believe XSplit is the only one left that works on XP.

    Don't worry so am I.
If you want to record or stream your game on XP, you can use XSplit. It's works fine for me.

Also other than perhaps Windows 7 which ive grown to like, XP is still one of the best OS's Microsoft have turned out in my opinion. Be thankful youve never had to endure Vista

Hey Ian. Believe me, this very point is being discussed. Don't want to lose or prevent good players because of PC restrictions. We all know that computers become obsolete maybe a week after you buy them. Haha

The personal friction between Buckeye & Catman is really OTT. From what I have seen the instigator of the bad-feeling is Buckeye who makes very personal accusations against Catman.

I was very grateful that you guys set up this OnLine Touur & would never try to criticise the way it is run. If I didn't like the way it was run, I would simply leave.

Anyway, if recording games is mandatory, I won't be able to play. It's a shame the days of mutual trust & respect are gone.

Ian, Thank you for raising this concern. It certainly was never my intention to exclude anyone, and perhaps naively neglected to think about the specs of peoples machines. Your feedback will no doubt give The Board food for thought when making their decision.

Agreed, it has been road of contrition of late just trying to get things setup to improve the realism for everyone involved, however none of these settings should detract from the fun of playing golf. I dont beleive any of them do.

I believe all the guidelines do is make this tour a fair competition for all. Tournament Round have to be held to exacting standards in order to make it a fair and thats ll the guidelines do

The Clubset and trajectory ones simply make it far more realistic, there's no way anyone could argue with that.

The video stuff is only there as no other way to make sure everyone is playing by the same rules. The only other solution would be, as the Protee tour do, make it compulsary to have to play with another player, but would then still be unable to truly verify settings

All the guidelines are also there to make up for the shortcomings and flaws in the Optishot unit and software.

That was absolutely the intention when starting the league, just to have fun. We were having a blast when it was 4 or 5 of us meeting in a chat room and arranging games against each other. We wanted to expand that and have fun with even more players. I'm confident it will get back to that soon. Everyone just back to playing golf in the comfort of their home or garage. Sometimes even playing with someone halfway across the world, which is pretty damn cool. The Optishot isn't perfect and never will be, we know it's no GC2, Trackman, or even ProTee. But I think the intention was to make it as accurate as possible within our means. This is the first time most of us have ventured in to the world of online simulation golf. Once we get over the growing pains, it will get back to being fun again. In fact, it already is with the Ryder Cup. Just hang in there with us.
