Trouble getting the program to show from projector to the hitting screen

Hello I need help. I hope I can describe my problem well enough to get some direction for my sim. I have an Optshot 2. I have it connected to my lap top and a flat screen TV. I have built a 10 x10 x 10 frame and have a hitting screen hanging at the back. Everything works great with this set-up. I just bought a 3M DMS 700 short throw projector so I can move from the TV to the hitting screen. Now the problem. All I am seeing on the screen is the desk top image. Even after I run the Optshot program I just see the desk top image on the screen. I have tried to start the program before I turn on the projector but that makes no difference. I can disconnect the HDMI cable from the projector and connect it to the TV and it works fine. My question is how do I get the program to work on the screen from the projector? Why does it work from the computer to the TV but not the projector?

"are you extending or duplicating your image." Iam sorry but I don't understand what that means. I get the image of the desk top on the hitting screen and even if I click on another icon and fill the computer screen with something else, all I see on the hitting screen is the desk top image. It doesn't change. Did that help any? And thank you for replying to my post, this has me going crazy!

sounds like you are extending, which is fine. drag something up/down/left/right and see if you can 'find' the other screen...

Aeroburner, Thinman, and BGGCurtis2nd, thank you, thank you, thank you. You have gotten me up and running. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your knowledge. It has really helped me. This will move my Sim forward and get it to look the way I was hoping. Thanks again. Now the carpeting and I should just about be finished. Just in time for some Kansas winter.

aeroburner, I guess I spoke too soon. Somehow I have lost the cascade of two screens on my computer. When I right click on my desktop and click on display settings all I have is 1 screen and no longer have the choice of switching to screen 2 or extending or duplicating. And of course the screen I have doesn't work with my projector.... I am sorry to bug you with my stupid mistakes but for the life of me I don't know what I did or how it happened. Did I tell you I am an old retired fart living in a world far past my time?

its cool try turning off the computer and pulling the hdmi and vga and plugging back in turn computer back on see if that gets them to be identified go to duplicate again and see if that works, a couple questions are you running your displays through your graphics card correct and are you using windows 10?

Thank you for responding so quickly. I disconnected everything from my lap top and started it up but I still only have 1 screen. Yes I am running windows 10. I don't know if I am running the display through the graphics card or not. How do I check that? Sorry for being non computer smart. I like to play golf! Thanks again

I just sent you a private message. If you have teamviewer installed on your computer I could most likely resolve this in under 3 minutes.

You need to clone / duplicate the screens if you want them both to show the same image.

on the main window screen with nothing open you will right click the mouse and there will be a display setting or your graphics card control panel in there you can detect what is hooked up once you show both being detected you can close window and there will be in the right hand lower corner by the clock you will have like a square with a point on the bottom click on that look for projects click that and select duplicate that should get both up and running, if I am missing anything let me know or someone in the forum will fill in the blanks hope that helps

Use the shortcut key. Holds the windows key button on the keyboard and press the p key to cycle through clone, extend etc. Try it the different ones. Hopefully it will detect the second monitor/ projector

Thank you all for the information about getting my cascade windows back. Aeroburner, there wasn't a box that said project when I clicked on the icon in the lower right corner. There we several other boxes but not one that said project. Stringreye, I was able to shortcut and get the project panel up and I cycled down to extend but nothing happened. I tried it and when it was highlighted I hit enter but still nothing changed. Thank you all for trying to help me, is there anything else I can do to fix my problem?

check and see what graphics card you have and see if there are any updates for it or the computer, look and see if the is a frys around to run it in they will get it running other then that a round trip ticket to your computer for someone to come look at it
