New H-Cam

I decided to add a new h-cam this year to improve the accuracy of the system. When I turn on H-cam and go to Portal or TGC my shots are all over the place, driver goes straight right or left and 50 yards. If I turn off the h-cam everything goes back to normal so obviously I have something setup wrong. I'm also using an H-cam I bought off another forum user which came with no instructions, brand, model number, basically a camera in a box. The USB extension cable from computer to camera is 25' long, just long enough to reach the camera location. The camera is located approximately 4' in front of the hitting sensor and about 1' to the left (when viewing from behind the hitting sensor and looking at the impact screen) I am using the v-cam on the back USB port and h-cam on front. Does the h-cam get setup the same as v-cam? BTW I find the camera setup instructions on Protee confusing, am I the only one that feels this way? Does anyone have maybe a little more in depth setup instruction list? I get a little lost when trying to figure out how to clean up the screen after hitting the practice shot. Can anyone provide a screen shot if a h-cam set?

25' USB cable must have a repeater, otherwise the camera will not get enough power. Check the H-Cam images and test your shots in the H-Cam preview window so you can actually see what's going on.

I've ordered the USB extender cable with repeater so I'll keep you posted. One thing I noticed is that for me to get the ball in the red box my h-cam had to be mounted 4' in front of hitting sensor and about 1' to the left? I just found on Protee that this camera should be behind lighting and centered on the sensor but no way I'm getting the red box anywhere near the ball if I move it? I'd like to get the mounting finalized before the extender cable arrives so any help appreciated.

you must have it set pretty high up to get the h cam so far forward is that the case

Installed directly to ceiling at 10’6”.

yep i had mine set at 9 feet and it pushed it forward a couple feet

mwh1023 May I ask where you found this 4' in front and 1' to the left information? The camera should be about 1' in front of the base sensor overhead light.

I referenced this detail before I installed the h-camera. I installed the 25' USB extension cable and then temporarily located the camera per the drawing but could not get the red box anywhere near the ball location. The 4' and 1' measurements are where I ended up to get the ball in the red box and the red line perpendicular to the screen all with a mounting height of 10' 6". As mentioned I bought a camera off another forum member but no idea if this is the same camera as what Protee sells do maybe the setup is different? I do have the camera viewing in the h-camera screen but got awful results. I just received the USB cable with repeater and will install this weekend. I'm not sure if there is a problem or not?

sounds like your fine on the setup just need to get it properly hooked up and should work itself out
