  • ProTee setup.

I am in the process of setting up my new to me Protee simulator. I have some quick questions, which my save me some headaches.

    - I was to move everything 6" closer to the screen, I can not see why this would be an issue.

    - the vertical launch camera I have found numbers from 72" to 108" to left or right of center. What is the minimum- maximum or optimum? I also read you may need a third light shining horizontally to help pick up the ball. My background is a black fabric

    - once the horizontal launch camera is mounted, it will be at about 9' is this a good height.

    - where I need 3 USB (2.0) ports (one for each camera and one for the pad), on my computer I have 2- USB (3.0) a USB (C) and a thunderbolt (3.0) can I run all three through the USB (C) or thunderbolt on a hub?

    Thank you in advance

I don't see how moving 6" closer to the screen will be an issue as long as there is plenty of room for the overhead light spread.

I've tried the vertical camera on both sides and I can't tell much difference. My vertical camera front sits 66" to the right of the sensor hitting area. A bit more or less does not seem to make much difference. I also have black fabric on the left edge of my enclosure. I've heard about using a third light and I've tried it. I have not seen any improvement with this configuration over using the two normal overhead lights. I may not have tried the right combination though.

My horizontal camera sits 8' 8" from the sensor, so I would say 9' is good.

USB C is fast, although it seems to me there may/will still be some data delay. I suppose that could cause accuracy issues.

I do get 3 to 4 misreads per round, so my setup may not be the best, I've tried many different configurations to lower these misreads, still I have not be able to eliminate these.

3 lights is a defo no go!
There is no benefit here and could over illuminate the area causing issue.
Let me know if you want me to use this new interface as it should help overcome a couple of the things we looked at a while back

Moving forward shouldn't be an issue as long as your lights are central over the swnsors.
the light circles should meet but not merge together.

Vcam should be 6ft left or right from the ball in a line approx 6 inches ahead of the front of the sensor mat.

A powered usb can be used just for the cameras, keep the sensor mat direct to pc

Stonebattle I'm having similar questions regarding camera setup... but, at this point wanting to know if I can do this without being in the actual Sim Room (as it is not built yet)? Can I set everything up and test it in my basement (basic fluorescent lighting, I know not recommended, but I have the IR lights, just not wired them yet, I could wire them in the basement and point them down at the sensor if I have to?)

PROTEE UK - I will try contacting you by email as well, the camera drivers are crashing the new ProTee Interface, maybe you have some ideas? I cannot run ProTee Interface as it just starts up (Loading...), then closes.

Either way, would be nice if all of this info was posted up in the forums as well - others may have similar/same problems and it will help them?

        Brettster:
In my experience one has to set it up with the correct light in the correct positions or it will not work.

Brettster the interface when open drops into tray at bottom of screen so not closing.
Bottom right upward arrow and you'll see the logo there.
The camera drivers used I've never seen them crash an interface to be honest.

Make sure you try one camera plugged in front usb port and one at the back of pc.

They could be going to sleep if settings in pc are set to allow usb ports to go to sleep.

When you get the lights wired up, cams set in place, we can check this out as per my email earlier.

If you want me to look before this and check out pc etc just let me know
