  • Quick ProTee Question

ProTee is running a special package, the TPC package, https://www.swingsense.com/en/store/...c-2015-details

This looks to include everything I want except the ProTee Golf 2.0 3D simulation software...it only has the TGC software.

My question is do I need the ProTee Golf 2.0 software.....what would I be missing if I did not have it?

You're missing the old software. It's not needed. Circa 2009.

So the TGC software has all the functions of the ProTee Golf 2.0 software.....swing analysis, etc.?

        Editing a comment
ProTee has never had swing analysis, unless you are referring to the club path and ball impact data that it shows on screen. TGC has this same info.

Here is the difference that I see. The protee 2.0 pros are it has two different practice ranges along with a chipping and putting range. It has 100 courses and a lot of them are the real actual courses ie: Augusta, Quail Hollow, St Andrews, Oakmont etc.. And it does give you some accurate club data like path and face angle and launch angle with the vcam and also club head speed as well as ball speed and both carry and total distance very useful information. The cons are it's out dated technology, and the graphics are not as good and putting is a little suspect.

The TGC pros are it has awesome graphics the best I ever seen. It's like playing real golf. The putting is much more realistic even without the putting sensor. A very large data base of courses. A course designer that you can design your own personal course to play on. The club data is the same as the protee 2.0 it's just formatted a little differently.

The cons: It doesn't have a dedicated driving range chipping or putting range. There are some that have been made but they are not that good. Protee is supposed to upgrade the software at some point but who knows. The courses are not real authentic courses they are copies of the real thing but most course are don't even exist and a lot of them are ridiculous to play. People that design these courses think they are Jack Nicklaus or Pete Dye but on steroids. A lot of them are un playable.

Bottom line. If you like to practice and work on your game then get both the 2.0 software and the TGC. If you like to play more than practice then save the extra money and just get the TGC. Protee will probably within this next year upgrade the TGC software to include a full practice and range set up which will make the protee 2.0 obsolete. Good luck on your decision.
