    Tour Courses

Ok. Lets have it. List the courses you'd like to see played on the tour and why. (ie. playable, long, great par 3s) List how long they are as well. We are looking for suggestions for when a tour stop course isn't available or is garbage. That's when we throw in one of the replacement courses.

    List the full name like:

    Mississaugua G&CC Gold 6653 mthunt

    Thanks

Phantom's Pass. 6799 yards. Not too long and not too short. Probably a challenge but very fair. Unique holes that will challenge strategy but the greens are large. Only hard carry is 15, a 212 yd par 3 with 170 carry over OB. Last 2 holes require a tee shot then turn 90 degrees and finish the hole.

On TGCtours it is the second favorite course behind Pebble.

To be honest I have not played it yet but I have Conceded my way through it and did a flyby on all holes.

I would agree with Couer D'Alene although I haven't played it yet, but I've heard so much about that course and have seen a couple of Matt Ginella stories I think on that course. Also, one that I have played that is very playable, but challenging is The Galveston Country Club I think is the name. I'd have to check to make sure although aeroburner or wyzguy may remember it. I lived in Texas for 10 years and spent a lot of time on the island for business. Wasn't playing golf then, but the course was well designed and I really felt like I was back on the island when playing it. As you can imagine there is quite a bit of water, which is challenging, but very fair and playable.

Coeur d'Alene is my home course. So, naturally I vote for that also. I will look again at the best rendition and forward that info. Please check out this video of what you are missing.

Ok mthunt , I played the course tonight. The version I played is the "new phantom's Pass." It was very good. Graphics good. It was a technical course. You had to chose your way around. Well placed bunkers make you wary.

#5 612 yd par5 that is fair and both my 14 yo and I parred it. So it is not too long for mortals.
#11 112 yd Par 3 that has a rock wall in front and OB to the right. Place it well and all is good.
#15 216 par 3 that has the 170 yd carry but open to the pin from there. Undulating green. Bogey is good for me.
#17 563 yard par 5 but a 250 yard tee shot to the right side leaves only 235 to the pin because it is a 90* bend right. So not too hard for par.
#18 482 yd par 4 with a 90* bend to the left after the drive. still 235 out so bogey is good for me.

The course has water but it is not overbearing. The fairways are wide enough to keep advancing but there are features that get your attention that must be taken into account.

I will try to have an online game with some others to see some more opinions.

I also vote for Phanton's pass. It's great! The greens are really firm but not difficult to putt. One of the best courses I've played on TGC.

I will give Phanton's pass a go this week. I looked at the first 5 holes..... Big decisions on holes 1 and 4.. Is it poor etiquette to hit it to another fairway on hole 5.... I am thinking it may be ok as long as nobody is on the tee there????

I thought about that too. Looks doable if there are no trees in the way on your approach.
