Man I left some shots out there, essentially hit the last 16 greens in a row! Had the irons on a string, driver pretty good, even putting pretty well, just minor read mistakes or slightly too hard/soft cost me some shots. Still happy with how everything is going.

Finally got my Skytrak back. Can't wait to tee it up for my first sim round in months! Taking a few days though. Played twice this weekend and my swing has suffered. Hopefully playing sim will start to improve my game.

Hey Ma' look I'm in last place =] My first round of my first tournament under my belt...fun and I can't wait to do some more, but I am having the darndest time getting used to this putting thing on the sim. I am by no means a great putter IRL, but wowzers am I bad on the sim. 4 putts galore...but it is fine, I can only get better from here, right?

Thank you much badeddiekit for the pointers. I'll give that a try. Apparently last night the tgc gods took pity on me for round 2 and it was a bit more manageable. Also got my first hole in one. Never had one IRL, but I was pretty stoked to get one on the sim.

Hole number 5, 3 putt from 5 feet away is hard to take.
every putt was 3 degree left miss.
It was always 3 degree right miss, but this round putts were missing 3 degree both directions.
          very frustrating round so far.

You got Sky Jacked brotha! There’s a straight putting patch out there somewhere that could help save some of your sanity. Good luck...

I miss, I miss, I... missed the part about 6 foot gimmes. 😁

I like to keep my putting stats.
only way to keep the putting stat is play with no gimme.
I usually putt around 30 putts, this round was 35 putt with 1pitch in.

Putting was manageable using sky track-tgc even with fiberbuilt mat.
last night, I put FMJ (full metal case), and I was getting some crazy shots.
During practice, I try to putting 10 foot, but that went 60YARD!!!
that happen 2 or 3 times.
Other small putting problem was more severe and often.
            Is metal case causing this?

No, it's not the metal case that is causing it. There's an elusive glitch that has been around for a while. I first experienced it when TGC for Skytrak was released - everything would travel 200% more than expected and the ST would trigger by just waggling a club in front of it. ProTee quickly released a fix for this back then. The glitch has reappeared recently, but doesn't happen enough for anyone to really know what is causing it.

          • #10
jrz TCG does not trigger anything. The trigger stuff is a hardware / firmware thing. Ball detection and triggering is done on hardware level. With this false trigger SkyTrak was sending bogus data. We fixed TGC not to launch this bogus data. That's all we did.

A putt going 60 yards will happen if the SkyTrak hardware sends a high ball speed to TGC. All TGC does is use the data the SkyTrak sends. If the data send by SkyTrak is off, the ball flight in TGC will also be off.

Made it through three or four holes before I had to give up. I'm beginning to think swinging in tight quarters is not for me. May need to make an outside setup.

Wasn't a great return to sim golf. May try again tomorrow. We shall see.

Thanks! I think I'm just going to have to pick and choose the courses I play. My irons are okay, not as good as IRL, but I can't hit my 3W or Driver indoors, and I think it's because I'm restricting myself indoors. I don't want to do that with my swing. I am going to start taking a different approach and start really focusing on improvement over scoring better on SIM, even in the tourneys. The scoring well will come with time!

Is there a reason for capping the club boost at a -5%? The game is unplayable for me because for whatever reason my wedges are going 20 yards farther than normal. It's a skytrak thing, it gives me the same bogus readings in the skytrak app. I understand capping a max boost, but a min boost isn't really cheating IMO.

Wow, that much extra carry with Skytrak? Do you think its underreporting spin and giving your flyers? I agree don't see an advantage to the bottom boost number.

The reason is 5 is reasonable. If you want to deboost I'd say it's ok. We are more trying to prevent boost or super spin reduction.

Nobody is going to stop you. The intention of the 5% would definitely be to stop people saying their driver is going 300, when it's realistically going 240. If you can set it to -12% and it replicates real life, I say do it.

I aggree with sb944. The 5% rule was created back when the ProTee launch monitor was the only consumer offering. Their software is much more flexible and confurable than the ST’s and requires more regulation. The rule should be updated for ST users.

So round one was good. Then a quad on hole 1 of round 2. I righted the ship sort of for a while. Then a misread wedge shot. so I hit mulligan on the ipad controller. NOPE, I just conceded the hole. What a dork. I know not to use that during a tournament but I did anyway. I was steaming before and after. Ended up shooting 80 and then 92. Should have been 80 and 85. Live and learn. Never again..... Oh, I said that before......

What a nightmare of a second round. Had major connection issues and played holes 2-6 three times, holes 5-11/12 twice and the rest once. So if my shot records look like there was lots of rewinds that’s the reason. It was very annoying as I was playing well the first two times.

I had major connection issues in round 2 as well. And then something that happened the 2nd time now: TGC froze showing the WIFI symbol for at least 20 min. So I gave up. Had to crash stop TGC because it wouldn't do anything anymore. When I started it again it started a few holes earlier. No issues there but it showed a 300 yard drive off the t-box flying right under a bridge. First, I wrecked my driver a week ago so no driver and 2nd I don't even hit my driver 250 right now. Had to play back out towards the t-box and continue. I have really bad internet at times at my place. So connection issues not rare but showing a shot I never hit when I reconnect is rare but happens.
