We might be talking about 2 different things. Under my skytrak setting it says shot recording=ON. Then I followed the directions otherwise. Maybe I’m missing something but I was just talking about the generated TGC handicap not the tour handicap. Thanks for your patience

Kinda odd case here. You have the recording on and the shots are there. Yet you still have the +36 cap.

Recording was off when I checked this morning and is ok now.

Tough course, I was scoring well for awhile even though I was not feeling confident in my swing. With so much water in play, it was intimidating ,causing my swing to get worse and then I was toast!

I don't think the Skytrak robs me, since the putting patch was released scoring on the putting green is way more enjoyable (accuracy aside).

I've struggle lately with some funky shots due to my skytrak being on bare osb floor and can bounce about off line bit by bit after hitting a lot of irons. Im solving that.

Without a shadow of a doubt where TGC is the toughest is pitches between 25 and 50 yards ( who can feel without seeing a 34 yard pitch??) And a think out of bunkers, especially with elevation changes can feel like a lottery. Infact that's where it rob me, 15yard bunker shots 6 feet elevation changes, feels like a lottery especially on small greens!

I agree with dg, thanks for all the work everyone.

I imagine going back to 1990 and telling a 15yo me that I get to practice and play golf in my garage with real clubs and real balls, and that I see what I hit on a detailed golf course view, that looks like I'm playing real courses from around the world, 100K of them. And that people setup a tour where you get to play against people from around the world. After that all sinks in, I mention that I feel a small percentage of shots seem to be off for accuracy. I can only hope 15yo me whacks me over the head with his plastic headed driver for that last comment. And that he swears off women to allow me more free time for golf than a few 1hr sessions in the garage after work.

One of the toughest courses on our tour. Had one of my better ball striking rounds and consistently found myself off the green for 7 yrd chips. This course also makes you play smart which definitely wasn't me. Nailed the water 3 times on the back nine for aiming too close to the water. Can't really say any of those water balls struck by my standards were bad.
          My courses:
          Aldeen
          Butler National

This is probably not the right section to ask this question. But during round 1, I managed to find the water 5 times. Every time, my only option was to rehit from the same spot (It didn't give me a drop option even if my ball crossed the 150 - 200 yards further). I was playing with a friend and he always seemed to get a drop option when hitting into the water (As my guest). Is there something in the settings that I would need to change in order to give me a drop option ? Round 2 was much better since I only found the water once !

Unfortunately all drops are not created equal or even make any sense at all.

That happened to me too. I’d love to understand why.

I think the general consensus is that HB Studios does not have a good algorithm for how drops work in the real rules of golf. I just assume stroke and distance like OB when my ball hits water so I avoid like the plague.

Here is a thread from the video game TGC that kind of sums it up:

Maybe TGC2 will have some improvements on how the drop rules work when a ball goes in the water...

Thank you for your reply. Now I know it's not just me being affected by this. I guess I'll just need to avoid the water going forward

Lets see. 22 over par for round 1, 2 over par for round 2. I could not stay out of the water in round 1.
Definitely not one of my favorites. Looking forward to next week.
