Day 1 matches are scheduled for the weekend of the 27th. Would like to have all day 1 matches completed that weekend. Posting this now to give every player time to make arrangements.
Captains, we need to get together this weekend and setup day 1 matches. The sooner everybody knows who they'll be playing with or against the better they can plan for it.

Pine Valley ( Protee Blue Tees) has been published! Wide open rolling fairways with huge well protected greens that are segmented into smaller sections by knolls and Valleys. The course comes in at a little over 6600 yards so it will be a nice break after Pinehurst. I guarantee you will hit every club in your bag.
Here is a hole by hole guide:
#1 Par 4 399 yards. Keep your drive to the right side of this huge fairway will bring into play the waste area but provides the shortest route to this large green. The green falls off 5 feet on all sides so accuracy is at a premium on your approach.
#2 Par 4 355 yards. Missing this fairway will bring the waste area that fronts the green into play on your second. This should not be an issue since this fairway is nearly 50 yards wide. The large green is bisected into smaller greens by a spine that runs down the center. Keep your approach shot on the correct side of the spine or a three putt is likely.
#3 Par 3 185 yards. This pin position seems tough at the back left were it is well protected. The smart play is to play to the right center and use the right to left slope of the green to feed the ball down to the back left pin. This hole plays about a 1/2 club shorter than distance due to the elevation change.
#4 Par 4 445 yards. Fairway is much larger than it appears from the tee, favoring the right side will leave a long Iron to this undulating and large green. Second shot plays downhill but is deceivingly longer than it looks.
#5 Par 3 197 yards. Quite possibly the toughest par 3 anywhere with trouble Left, Right and long. Just don’t miss right as there is a severe drop off to the lake. A better option may be to lay up to the apron area and take your chances with a chip and a putt. A par is a good score on this hole.
#6 Par 4 387 yards. Cut off as much as you dare on this dogleg right off the tee. Mis-hit it and the scrub area on the right is a guaranteed bogey. Hit a good drive and you will be rewarded with a short iron into a bowl shaped green that funnels the ball toward the hole.
#7 Par 5 580 yards. It is imperative to find the fairway with your drive . Missing the fairway will bring into play the largest scrub area on the course known as “Hells’ half acre” on your second shot. A definite 3 shot par 5 with a large green perched on an island of sand.
#8 Par 4 307 yards. The first of the 2 “double green holes” at Pine Valley. The tougher green to the left will be utilized for play today. Best play is to lay back off the tee with a 3 wood or long Iron and leave yourself a full wedge distance into this severely sloped green.
#9 Par 4 427 yards. Another huge fairway that is difficult to miss. The downhill second shot is to a large undulating green that plays a club shorter than indicated.
#10 Par 3 130 yards. Your best chance for Birdie ,the large green again is segmented by knolls and valleys. Failure to place you wedge into the correct section will leave a difficult putt. The deep bunker short left is known affectionately by Pine Valley members as “The Devils A**hole”.
#11 Par 4 390 yards. A 3 wood off the tee might be the better play here as any drive to the left side of the fairway can be blocked out by knoll that juts into the fairway at 230 yards. Second shot is uphill to an undulating green. Keep you ball below the hole, anything above the pin will leave a very fast downhill putt.
#12 Par 4 315 yards. You may be tempted to layup with a 3 wood here but that will leave you a poor angle to a heavily guarded narrow green. The better play is to hit driver which should leave you looking down the length of this Front to Back sloped Green. Play for the run out as the green falls away from you on your approach shot. A definite Birdie hole.
#13 Par 4 437 yards. The second toughest par 4 at Pine Valley. Your tee shot is to a plateau fairway and should favor the right side for the best angle into the green. Only advice for your downhill second shot is do not go left… Take your par and run to the 14th tee.
#14 Par 3 185 yards. This downhill par 3 is nearly surrounded by sand and water. Due to the elevation change this hole plays a club or two shorter than indicated. This is the flattest green on the course.
#15 Par 5 580 yards. The second of the two par fives at Pine Valley is another 3 shot hole. The wide open fairway narrows to 15 yards as you approach the green. It may be best to play short of this neck and leave yourself 120 yards or so to a large rolling green.
#16 Par 4 420 yards. This long par 4 requires a tee shot to the right , the longer carry, if you want the best angle into this green. A tee shot played left will leave you looking at the water on your approach shot.
#17 Par 4 325 yards. A short iron or fairway wood off the tee, you don’t want to miss this fairway. The second shot is uphill to a two tiered “island green” on a plateau surrounded by sand.
#18 Par 4 430 yards. The final and maybe the most breathtaking hole at Pine Valley. The fairway slopes left to right so your tee shot should favor left center. A uphill approach to a well guarded green surrounded by bunkers and fronted by water.
