hahaha, i'd like to punch TF out of John sometimes, or whatever his name is. Uppitty little rat. 'Here's a pro tip, the grass is supposed to get shorter after each shot'
That was one interesting round. When I first read the comments, my first reaction was how bad could it be. After playing the first round last night, all I can say is wow. I ditched the driver on the second hole. Those are some narrow fairways that feel like they're 25% covered by branches. Hope the rest of the tour only gets better courses to play.
Maybe its just me but the only chance I ever have is these long tight courses where scores are terrible. I have no chance when folks are blasting -20 under...
I don't disagree with the sentiment but I just found that there was no space to work the ball either way. Greens with overhanging trees covering the entire approach. Tee shots that are splitting my start line , correct shape yet still hitting branches , falling down about 240 and still have 200 yard impossible shot. The bunkers and the tree made it a real struggle for me to enjoy. I didn't feel that any of the pins were accessible, I'm sure there were pins back right , crying out for a fade yet there were trees blocking the left approach. Have a look at the number of birdies the too scores post, says it all really.
Good job BSCampbell . I am not sure anyone is beating even par for the tournament. I see Sid has a -6 out there but that doesn't even guarantee anything for round 2.
wbond I watched braycobb a little on youtube who hits just a nice baby draw and noticed that it just does not work on this track.I don't remember it being as much of an issue on the longer version we played last year. I like to think of myself as a left to right player but it can turn into left to left pretty quick when the back gets stiff. Sucks getting old! I was just talking to my buddy I play with yesterday about how I think the simulator has helped me learn to work the ball both ways better, but in turn I've developed more of a 2 way miss. Gotta love this game!
Well I must be on a lucky streak. Shooting +9 (for the first round) on that course was great for me! That is one tight course for sure! I don't remember exactly what hole it was, but I know it was a par 5 (n the back, I believe) that when the hole came up on my screen, I knew that par was just a dream....
Won't make you feel any better, but I believe this was fixed in the most recent update:
TGC 3.5.0 release info.
Confirmation popup has been added after opting to concede a hole.
Gimmie Putts are now being scored correctly and the API data should be accurate moving forward.
Green Firmness override working on tournament events (auto set to SLOW GREENS).
Removed controller callouts when a gamepad is plugged in.
Left handed player club face corrected on post shot analysis.
Auto continue timer with pause on scorecard added.
Removed second aiming reticule from settings menu.
Optional borderless Window Startup for TGC Dashboard users (does not work with SkyTrak).
Integrated patches upto 3.0.3c.
We are looking for a couple of "beta testers" to test the TGC 3.5.0 update before we release it. Before you ask: No this is not TGC2019
I don't usually get to play a practice round but did on this one with a buddy. After the front nine he was ready to call it a day. Told me if anyone shot under par on this one needed to be checked for cheating as there was no way anyone could hit those fairways. Its a ********* of a course. I pulled one into the drink on the back nine and it put me in front of the tee box marker and finally had to hit an eight iron to get enough loft to tee off. GL to all.
regardless of how difficult I think the course is, I understand everyone has to play it. I want to thank protee and all the others involved in getting this tour up and running. without you guys us other winter warriors would be pulling up whatever course and whaling away. You guys do an awesome job!! This is my second tournament and am looking forward to getting the shot recording thing squared away also. Please disregard my belly aching! You guys rock!
Any idea why my scores show as completed, but I can only see my first round score card? I think I should be located a bit higher on the leaderboard also. I finished both rounds and thought maybe the 2nd round didn't save, but when I went back into the tournament, I couldn't play the tournament anymore so I assume it did save the final round. This is my first tournament so I'm not sure if it's a timing thing, but I did finish the round yesterday.
Also, my final round was an 88, but the website is showing an 87. I don't mind accepting the 87, but just another weird thing with my round.
This one was rough for me. Got to work on my punch out skills a lot. Even some of the fairway shots. Probably one of my least favorite courses so far. But, good practice at least using clubs I don't get to use that often (5 iron).
