HOW TO PLAY
From the main menu select PLAY -> PLAY TOURNAMENT -> ALL TOURNAMENTS -> SET FILTER TO PUBLIC COMPETITIONS

You can play by yourself, offline with friends or ghost players or online.

Hey dg_1983 nice job. 10 shot improvement from round to round. I haven't had much time to play so far this week but it seems like there a lot of holes that could be a birdie one round and a double the next...I was thinking -6 or so might win it but I think the numbers will be all over the place.

Played my first round ever yesterday. I've been looking on this forum to answer questions about TGC, saw this thread and figured I minds will jump right in. Man chipping and putting was near impossible. I eventually started to get the chipping down by not looking at my screen (other than aim) and just trying to hit the number. Putting forget it, I putt 4 balls straight off the green and one ended up in a sand trap. This is my first simulator software so I assume I just need to get used to it.

So, I have some questions and sorry if these are obvious.

- How do I look at a rounds scorecard? I was able to see that my 95 was in 77th place after round one but where can I review scores.
- The information screen that tells you all the raw numbers of the shot blinks for like 3 seconds after each shot, is there a way to pull that back up? It would be nice to check them I never get enough time to find what went wrong.

Looking forward to my 2nd round tonight.

i think you press 'i' on the keyboard to see last shot data
also, you can see your scorecard if you look up the tourney on the golfsimtours website, not the forum website:

when you get the shot summary page pop up afer each shot, if you are quick enough, you can hit the little countdown tab on the right side of the box to pause the game to the next shot, then you can look at all your stats for that shot. you can do the same for the scorecard after each hole.

Also if you want to have more time between shots and holes, you can adjust that in the options screen.

Ok, I’ve played the Bathpage QSchool tourney, then one round at the Major on Magnolia. Something weird happened in my second round there. I guess I was at the wrong tourney...

anyways, I’ve played many rounds now and have established a handicap (without completing the full Q School) on TGC.

Can i I enter this event? Can I play with a guest? Obviously the guest won’t be included in the event scoring but does that have any effect on me getting a score in?

yes, you can play with a guest, i've done it and my score posted as usual like i was playing by myself

erm...whats a Q School? is this something that needs to be done before you enter the tournie? i was going to play my first round today at the Honda.

1, i have put shot recording on and registered myself on the system as it says to do how to enter. is it just a matter of just playing and the program sorts everything out like posting score etc?

2, do i have to enter a decent score for me to be on the leaderboard?

Ozmodion No need to do Q-school prior to entering a tournament. People do q-school in order to establish their handicap for the tour. You get a handicap once you complete 5 rounds. If you enter a tour event without a handicap you will have a zero handicap until one is established. Have fun and welcome to the tour!

ok, i have a handicap from the game, but not through the Q School, just by playing non tournie courses. If i dont do the Q School will i still get 0 HC until i do 5 tournie rounds or will the HC i already have count?

The handicap from the game is not the same as the tour so it won't count for the tour standings. You will have to wait until you have 5 rounds on the tour for it to be calculated which happens weekly on Tuesdays.

There is a lot of water on this course! Finally put a good round together. I played away from the water and it worked out well. I really love playing the same course that I watch the pros play earlier in the day.
