TGC 2019 Society - SEASON 1

I and Protee discussed about opening up another official society for higher handicappers. Will finalize what the HCP entry requirement should be, but it'll definitely be helpful for people who struggled playing on a higher level tour!
(The tour will run the same schedule but with shorter tees and will have a handicap requirement).Last edited by LEO MODE; 06-27-2019, 05:06 AM.

If handicaps work like they should then the net leaderboard should put all players on equal ground??????
also shorter tees suggest high hdcpers are short hitters. What happens when you have short tees and a high hdcper that hits it 300 yards.
also what happens when you get a low hdcper that only hits it 235 yards off the tee and you keep putting him on 7000 yard courses. No fun
im not sure this is thought through thoroughly.
just food for thought
chew on that

I'm with Coz on this I think. Handicaps are supposed to put everyone on a level playing field. I think the more people in the same tournament the better, especially until participation really explodes to the point of maybe branching off into different divisions. I was hopeful of there being a way for people to play different tees in the same tournament, at least for the net division. Then let the gross winner be from the longest set of tees. I obviously don't have the solution to any of this, just hate to see everything split up to have 20 or 25 people each in multiple events vs. 200 people in the same event.

Wiz! You thinking of me again!!!

If everyone is playing 7000yds, even if you play NET I don't think it's gonna work for high handicappers who not only have high handicaps but also with shorter distances. I hit 250yds but I still suck at 6000yds still as it's a hit or miss hitting it on the fairway and GIR. It's not about distance, it's about inconsistency that differentiates the HCP/skillet. In other words, distance is not really the issue, but more with sorting out divisions based on skillset first, then accommodating them with distances.
First priority = divide them by skill levels
Second priority = divide them with tee distances
If you keep winning Division 2, it's a sign that distance is not a challenge for them anymore, but should go play in higher division. Vice versa, distance is not an issue in higher division, but if you're inconsistent and always low in rank, then it's a sign for you to play in lower division.Last edited by LEO MODE; 06-27-2019, 11:34 PM.

For what it is worth........
I'd rather play in a bigger field than a smaller one.
Net division is a lost cause for low guys, handicaps should level the net division. Perhaps a gross over 10s or something would be of interest to some.
As for course length, mix it up man. Enjoy the short ones and scramble around the long ones.
5500 every week gets just as boring as 7500 every week

The last 2 society events I played (one rd of Coz and 2 rds this tourney) after each hole I had to quit game and go out to play event and start again to get my tee shots to read. Luckily with the new computer and system this is only a 10 second process, but surely I shouldn't have to do this. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hey gents, I don't see any way I'm going to be able to play both tours, I just don't get enough time in a normal week on the skytrak. If you guys had to choose do you stick with the orignal TGC tour or go ahead and move up to bigger and better things with TGC 2019 society? Will there eventually be the ranking system and stats associated with the new Society like there is for the original tour? I found it fun to watch the $ list along with the rankings and point systems in the original but the game play with the new software is much better.

Im currently only playing TGC2019 from now for the same reasons. TGC2019 is just so much better in so many ways. Their are a lot more stats tracked( you can see who leads the tour in driving distance and so on), courses/graphics are way nicer, physics are better(except the first bounce on low shots).
It would be nice if we could view all the stats you can see in game in the website though.

I agree the game play is on a different level. I haven't even played with it enough to know that all those stats were tracked on the game. I agree about being able to view the stats on the website, that would definitely make the decision for me. Thanks Jackedup

Just curious but what are the short comings?Originally posted by dg_1983 View PostI guess I'm intending on playing 2019 to get used to the physics. I think I can live with some of the "tour" short comings in season 1 - I guess I know they are coming right? My Courses:
