TGC 2019 Society - Q-School

This is a sticky topic.

It should be required. It's a new platform and I don't believe the 2 hdcps correlate. Apples to oranges.

TGC handicaps will not carry over. Everyone will start from scratch. Handicap will be calculated after playing 5 rounds. Play Q-School to get some rounds in outside the tour. Rounds played at Wizards Noon will also count as qualified rounds.

Sorry if this is a noob question (I'm a noob), but if the tour starts July 1st how can I get those Q school rounds in for my handicap if the last two don't start until later in July? Will we be able to start the tour July 1st without a handicap (or with just the 2 rounds at Cypress Point)?
Also, does it matter which tees we play from or the course settings we use?
Thanks!

I haven't checked yet but I was thinking it would be scheduled in the society. If it isn't it probably doesn't matter what tee cause that should be figured into hdcp calculation. I'll check later but I would check the society and see if they have it there first.

Playing a round outside a society will not count towards your tour handicap.

Search in societies for ProTee. Join ProTee Q-School en click PLAY EVENT. This is where you will find the running event.

Please go to "search" and type in "ProTee" , the Q-school and exhibition should go into the official soon.

ProTee Max, I am still not clear if the rounds played in ProTee United Society count towards tour HCP? Thanks.

Really liked Cypress point club except for that 1 damn tree in front of the tee box on hole 15 or 16. You figure there should be any leaves on that thing with the amount of drives trying to blast through it.My courses:
Aldeen
Butler National
Cantigny
Canyata
Cog Hill #4
Harbor Shores
Harborside
Naperville Country Club
Prairie Landing
Rich Harvest Farms
Ruffled Feathers
Shoreacres

Newb here. Is there a guide for joining the protee tour somewhere.
I'm guessing my in game handicap does not count and protee are calculating one for the tour.
So do I just set gimmies, set shot recording on and play the q-school and protee tournaments and my info is captured?
Do I need to register anywhere else?
Soz if the above sounds dumb but couldn't find the info anywhere else.
Thanks all

My first round in a tournament in TGC2019!
I liked the possibility of "favoriting" the course directly after one round played.
I disliked 3-4 disconnections (randomly?) that never occurred as I was playing stand alone rounds in the game.
Anyway, really nice to move from TGC1 to TGC2019 for the tournaments!
hope we will soon have a website to follow handicaps, recorded shots, leaderboards, etc. as it is in TGC1 (golfsimulatortour.com).

How quickly does this update?
I've played the first round of q school at cypress point and the first few holes of the 2nd. When might I appear here, after finishing both rounds at cypress?

Valuable lessons learned from Q-School. I promise you all that I was not doing handicap maintenance during my Q-School rounds. I've simply got a lot more to learn about the nuances of playing tournament rounds in TGC.
Lesson 1 - Do not concede a hole. This is a 10 stroke penalty. You may ask yourself why in the world did he concede a hole. Please refer to lesson 2.
Lesson 2 - In order to re-hit/place your ball after declaring a shot unplayable you must press "Z". On the par 3 16th hole I hit my shot what I would call out of bounds. The game decided it was playable from a rocky crevasse near the water. After an unsuccessful attempt to hit it back into play. I tried to declare the ball unplayable To my dismay, it kept giving me a drop zone in the same rocky area. Ultimately to progress with the round I had to concede the hole. I would of gotten a much lower score in my first round if I did not take such a large penalty on that hole. Fun fact, I was so scared to play this hole in my second round I purposely laid up by hitting into the fairway short and left of the green. This turned out to be a much better strategy.
Lesson 3 - Pin placements can be punishing. On the 18th hole I three chip shots from the same location. Two of them I tried to get cute and just hit them too short. The slope was impressive and sent both balls back to their original starting position. Eventually I got on the green but then putted the ball harder than I should of and went off the green to the location that had given me such trouble. I got that shot down now, just took a few tries.
I look forward to posting better scores so that my handicap is more representative of my skill level. See you all on the tour.

First round hit a shot to the front. Bounce off the rough down the cliff. I didn't risk it second time either. 7 iron wedge missed putt bogie.

I'm afraid I learned that same lesson and hadn't read this thread. Tried to hit out of the rocks the first time and then tried to drop. Ended up conceding the hole. System didn't go to the next hole and hit concede again which resulted in two conceded holes. A heck of a first round playing the game.
