    No Putting Society

    At the risk of being called out by the people that love putting on TGC 2019, I'm thinking about setting up a society where every player sets putting to 'on green'. The way that works is one putt from within 6ft and 2 putts when on green but outside of 6ft. It's the only way my friends and I play local matches.

    Before I set it up - I'd like to get some feedback. Is this of interest to anyone? I've stopped playing the regular events because putting on a sim measures how good you are at putting on a sim. It doesn't translate to traditional golf. The rest of the game - translates really well.

    Please provide comments - positive or negative. Thanks.

    Ok. Going forward one round and pls set putting to 'on green' '3 yards'. Feedback I got was that 2 yards is not sufficiently generous.

      Is there anyway to tell what was left to the pin? I had it set to on green and 3 yards and 2-3 shots seemed well within 9' but it gave me 2 strokes instead of 1.

        I believe the +1 distance cannot be adjusted with the “on green” setting. It defaults to within 6 ft. You can only use specified distances with the “distance” option.

          Ya...can't do this, use distance.



          EDIT: In real life the closer to the hole the more likely to 1 putt. So be nice to see a mode having probability of 1 putting based on proximity to hole. That way better players score better just as they do in real life.

            Another fault in the software then. This seems about right then, not quite inside of 6 but pretty certain it was inside of 9. The problem with distance is you are still putting which this society tried to avoid.

              That's strange. So you're saying you set it to 'on green' 3 yards and it defaults to 2 yards. I'll test this. I played a round a few days ago. I thought it was working at 3 yards.

                distance include “off green” right? So if it’s a tucked pin you could get 1 putt if the distance is 10’ or so?

                Yes. Distance is distance so off green.

              Can’t you still putt with distance? This is what I use when I have friends over who dont play a lot of sim golf but want to putt. I set it to like 12’ for 1. I think there is a second value but I don’t remember what I set that to.

                Is this society going to have further events? Mickey I love the idea of the society as putting is not a great experience with Skytrak.

                  Got really busy with work and other stuff. Haven't been playing. I think someone else is starting a similar type society.

                    Mickey if you need someone to take over this no putting society I would be interested, I currently have a society that I could start setting events for. Just let me know and I could start some events this weekend.

                      Well it seems Mickey is going to be away for a bit. If there is still interest in no putt society I will start creating events. Reply if still interested.

                      I like the idea and seems fun you guys just have to let me know if you want the rules to be "on the green" or "distance". If it was "distance" wouldn't you still be forced to putt if distance was set to 4 yards and you were on the green with 15 foot to hole.

                        I was in the TGC 2019 No Putting Tour society.
                        I have been banned.
                        Please would you tell me why?
                        Actually I thougt that the Greenfee of 1845 Coins was a mistake.
                        I liked the socitey and would like to rejoin. 👍😀
