Any interest in a true sim society?

I can set something up with

No Boost
No gimmies or 3 foot gimmies if we can do that as 6 feet is just way too long.
No straight putting patch
Wind turned on
visual clues on screen would be mini map and the flagstick with distance on it.

I'd use all the LIDAR courses from here and TGC tours site along with some of the top rated fantasy courses after I test them out in steam to make sure they look playable on sim.

Anyone interested ? If we can get a bunch of people I'll set it up.

Here is a skytrak user playing this weeks course, Cabot Cliffs made by friendBOMBER . Maybe the best course in the whole game . Wind on, no gimmies . And he doesn't have any issues. Warning, there may be some foul language and a rant about people who boost their clubs for competitive advantages in here lol... thanks to MatalaWedge for letting me post the link

That's what I'm talking about! Amazing round, but seems the wind / rough did not penalize enough? Also seems like the wind was not strong enough, is that fixed in TGC2019 as I remember reading somewhere that they had re-worked the wind calculations, but then backed them off as they thought they were too tough.What were the settings wind/rough penalties?

Also, seemed like he got quite a few really lucky breaks in that round that he calls 'sh*t'.

I would be up for playing under those conditions, in a True Sim Society. That's way better than 6' gimmes and everything unnatural. I would like to see more penalization for shots out of rough, and possible requirements to hit off of rough mat - but not sure how SkyTrak handles that? I hear you can use a drop-in brush tee on ProTee...

you can hit off whatever you want. buy one of those 3 turf mats and have at it. The wind was on meduim which is about up to 10 mph. there are high and very high after that. rough is a set penalty 7% in light and 14% or so in heavy.

Luck comes and goes in simgolf as it does in real golf. I know. I look like have no idea what I'm doing at times. I also agree that rough penalties are not sufficient. I see random sideangle and or side spin variation along with decreased backspin as a good option. All of those would be pretty easy to implement. It's a computer for pees sake. It will generate random numbers in a specific way until the cows come home.

I was aiming 20-30yds left and right of target at times. My wind gauge was not working but man... That wind was plenty enough.

BUT

None of the above has any bearing on whether or not these rules are good or not.

IMHO they are the best available settings for the best available true golf-like experience.

then next up we have

The Coeur d'leane resort Golf course. Setting TBD....

NO GIMMIES
Greens are Soft and Fast so be prepared for higher stimp.
and Wind is ON low, which is around 4-7 mph usually

Tournaments will run every 4 days or so, that way we have a few rounds a week to play this winter.
