Recommended golf societies for TGC2019?

Hi all,

I've just set up my skytrak and TGC2019, albeit I can't play for a few weeks until my outbuilding is built but thought I'd get it all ready to go.

With that in mind I was wondered which societies I should be looking to join. I love the idea of playing the sim regularly and like the competitive side to golf so looking for an active society.

In addition to the standard format societies are there any societies which have team play, 4bbb etc? I'm from UK so most likely need UK society for that due time difference?

There are team events that happen periodically. Most are organized on Discord instead of here. Much more active community.

Just out of curiosity, are there any societies that use real money? I'm imagining everyone using Venmo to pay an entry fee (10 bucks or so) to the "commisioner" and then that money is paid back out at the conclusion of the tournament based upon the results. If 50 people got on board, that would be a $500 purse on a $10 entry fee. Is this a thing? Or totally frowned upon for one reason or another?

There are. No standing societies with weekly events but the periodic tournaments that pop-up and some friendly skins games that are organized on discord.
