  • US Kids Tour

Hey all, I am trying to launch a US kids society - starting this week. Ideally for kids 14 and under playing from kids tees of various lengths. If you've got kids or know others that do who play TGC please have them take a look, my son wants to play with and against other kids

Would love for something like this to start. My girl is 6 and is starting to hit so a bit too early for me.

I’ve got 11 and 9 year olds. They’d be in. Let me know what they need to do.

I'd love for my kids to get interested in this. I'm not sure though - my 13 year old son seems to be video games only, and my 11 year old daughter only hit a few balls and lost interest. I'm holding out for my 4 year old - who does seem to like playing. I know we have a course here that does a lot with First Tee and has many kid focused events, even a Winter league in their Sim which I was given a tour of by the head professional. They have an indoor putting green setup too...

I know that this type of experience requires really good knowledge of working with the kids to keep them interested with all the other distractions available to them these days. bombri - how old are your children and what ages would fit into your Kids Society? Maybe need different Age-group Kid Societies?

My 9 year old son would play. Can you do different tees by age in a tournament? I feel the difference between a 7 year old and 14 year old would require different tees. If not, though, he’d still play :-)

Allowing different tees would be great if possible. The difference in swing speed from my 9 to 11 year old is massive.

That's great, I don't believe you can do different tees in a single event unfortunately, I tried to leave it flexible but it forces you to choose. The course I chose for the first couple weeks is 3200 yards which is US kids 7 year old yardages. Please have your kids play it, we can modify as needed as the weeks go on.

I've thought about trying to organize father son four ball matches too which then could be done with age appropriate tees. First I have to figure out whose got kids interested in playing!

I have 11 and 9 year old boys that would be interested. Is this something where you would need a separate profile per child?

My kids are going to play today. Hopefully there’s no putting either. That just slows it down to a crawl and they tend to struggle with it. I assume they’ll just play as me?

Anyone figure out how to set up multiple accounts for the kids? Just realized that If one kid plays the event the system will think we’ve completed it and won’t let the other kid also play.

I think there is a way to do it but it may cost some money. May wasn't to email ProTee to inquire.

I believe you will have to setup multiple Societies for the different age groups? Wizard of Coz can confirm that?

Yes Brett, I know we could setup different societies for different age groups but I'm trying to see how many kids we have interested. I was referring to the multiple accounts question. In order for one account to be able to play a tournament twice, I think the account has an add on fee for a second player.
