Does anybody know if the sim plays true to the original course w.r.t. tree covers extend well into fairway, and a few trees blocking parts of the flight path? This is good fun for people that can shape their shots.

A lot of the TGC recreations are waaaaaay tighter than the real courses. People are trying to find ways to make them harder for console play.

It is too tight for me. After this week, I will never play it again. My driveway is wider than some of the fairways @ 275 yards out. Don't get me started on the trees. I might be hitting 5 iron, 7 iron instead of Driver, wedge.

Yeah Keith, I saw how tight it was for you, lol, played against your ghost, you hit almost every fairway and shot even par. NICE round!!

Once again..... wasted a great round outside of the tournament. Did you see me pound it into the trees? I was trying to go over and didn't come close. Most of my drives were very good that round. More than a few of those drives were hybrids,5 wood and the odd 6 iron. Sometimes the smart play is 6 iron, 8 iron instead of driver, wedge. That was a great round. Maybe it was the new irons. I am planning on playing my tour rounds on Thursday or Friday. That will be 2 days without hockey so I am hoping that I can put up 2 good rounds, I have been slipping lately when it counts.

I was quite shocked about how tight this course was and the shot shaping that is required. Supposedly he was using measurements for widths and all but I do wonder. Even if the actual widths are correct the overhanging trees seem far too extreme. Maybe one day we can convince him to go back and make a few more changes for our version. I know he is currently working on Bethpage so I doubt he will be able to anytime soon.

Yep, I agree with you guys . I pulled it up looked at the first few holes and shut it down.... Didn't seem real at all and found it to be minimal on the fun side. I'll be back next week

While I do think the course is tight - I didn't find it unplayable at all. To each his own I guess....

I agree Voodoo. The course is tight especially with the trees etc. but not unplayable. It does force you to hit draws and fades on demand.

I thought it was tight also, but kind of liked it, even though the trees hang into the fairways etc, I think it kind of reflects my home course as far as trees etc, they don't hang in the fairways as far IRL but like Bubba says, it makes you hit better shots.
I was noticing the practice leader board, do most of you guys really shoot around par IRL, or do you have better sim scores?

I really enjoyed the course, despite being very tired in the second round and struggling a fair bit. It was a challenge but I also thought it was fair.
I got so angry playing 36 holes in a PG tournament this morning with shanks and wayward driving that I needed a change of scenery so went straight into another 36 holes in this tournament and it was fun, despite not improving!
I see a lot of great scoring on here and having only ever broken 90 once in my life so know where I belong in the standings but it's a great incentive to improve(if I can just stop the shanks!).

My real life handicap index is 2.1 or something like that...so I'm close. Hitting off perfect lie everytime makes things easier, but feel shots are harder...so maybe for me it evens it out a bit.

Why is the course so dark? It seems at times it was like playing at night. The shadows make it way too dark.

The trees killed me on this one. I'm left handed and generally play a draw. But this def forced a lot of fades as well. I suppose it's good to be forced to play both at will.

I'm sorry but this course is not accurate to the real one. The first tee shot look like hitting into a forest.

LMAO, now we know we are playing console courses! That is an great representation of what we are dealing with. I do have to say I enjoyed the challenge of having to work the ball. 13 was a bit over the top though. Putting is driving me F'ing nuts, not that this course had anything to do with that. I find putting on PG almost too easy after trying to put on TGC. I just can't figure it out....

The problem is a lot of these courses are tricked up to keep the scores down. Guys are birding everything on the console game. The easiest way to do that is the greens. PG has really flat green compared to TGC. There's so many amazing courses to choose from but for a sim, this isn't one.
